Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace has become the fist EPL player not to "take a knee".

Glad he's made a stand. Let's hope common sense will prevail and others will follow.

If people stopped being racist then there would be no need for gestures.

Maybe people on the internet could think before posting their hateful bile?

Then nobody would be upset by taking of knees.

The first time it was a powerful message. I remember seeing it happen in the first game of project restart and thought it was amazing and real change might be on the way. Taking the knee in football (not wider society) now just seems to be used by the premier league to cover up the issue to make it look like they are doing something while doing very little.

If people want to take the knee I welcome it but it should be an individual decision for it to continue having meaning rather than how it’s used now. I sympathise a lot with Zahas position on the matter.

Pretty funny how he was left standing while everyone else, including his teammates, was carrying on as normal. Now he’s the one with his little meaningless “gesture” trying to court publicity. What a chump.

Yet a lot of people upset when Meghan Markle was under aware of doing a bowing gesture towards her Grandmother

If he doesn't want to do it then he doesn't want to do it. It shouldn't be compulsory, that's not the point of anything like this.

There's plenty of players in the football league that haven't been taking the knee all season. They aren't doing it for publicity, they are doing it for their own reasons.

The fact of the matter is the gesture of "taking the knee" has lost it's meaning and has done nothing to stamp out racism. In fact it has caused yet more rancour.

At the end of the day each to their own and if someone wants to stand then so be it.
