Hard to judge how last night will translate into the PL imo. First half played well, second half attempted to manage the game out. Warsaw weren't great but we can only play who's in front of us and it was pretty obvious we were so much better than them.

Our defense is still our biggest problem and the first 10 minutes on Sunday and how we start is crucial (Watford are going to right up for it from the whistle). If we squeeze past Napoli and top the group I seriously think the club should consider buying a defender, or bringing somebody trustworthy in on loan who can prop our defense back up. We need somebody like Huth to just stabalize and organize the back four. We can actually win this tournament imo but it wont happen with the current state of our defense. And bonus that will also be reflected in how we play in the PL. But I have my doubts as the club has seemed very reluctant to buy in the winter transfer period. Some could say to the detriment of our final PL position and maybe this time it will be to the detriment of Rodgers's job.

Yeah it’s a difficult thing to judge. There was a recent study of 1000s of hours of commentary that found that black players were, empirically, described using different words to white players so it’s a fact that it happens. Whether or not a similar bias is found on FT is unknown at this point. I’d be surprised if it didn’t reflect the wider world but I only looked at 50 posts or something so it’s too small a sample. I’d wager that there is some racial bias on here though.

Almost certainly and likely unconscious in the main. In terms of commentary and the wider world I think this is almost certainly something that is still to some degree embedded. Hopefully as the years go by and new folk come on board that inbuilt bias will erode to the point where they are actually commenting on the player alone. That would be nice.

I didn’t really know what to make of it tbh - Better to an extent against as poor as they get opposition- we were decent enough going forward but we are an absolute car crash defensively- you can only beat what’s in front of you and they did that so I’m not going to get negative- some good performances- madders looked at it although playing a pub team so he should - we were just super sloppy- so many half arsed passes and even that shambles of a team looked like they would score against us most times they attacked - Thomas did better - soynucu did well - on the opposite soumare and lookman were shocking against a bang average outfit - tough to get overly excited but I’m still in the camp of getting behind the team and t  he gaffer - I tell you something though - they will have to play a million times better than that to win on Sunday - let’s hope for all our sakes they do

I thought Lookman had a really good first half but second half for some reason he had a really sloppy touch

Lookman is a bit of an enigma for me. I think he can be coached into an excellent footballer though.

There are sometimes blatant racist comments on here.  The poster generally defends themselves.  The mods can be pretty good at taking them down.   There was one awkward one when, I believe, a mod defended themself.

From some there is racial bias.  However, at times, it is impressive how prejudice gets called out.  If prejudice is questioned, there is generally good support for tolerance

About the most innovative chant some of the window licking twats who attend our matches can come up with tbh

What’s the general demographic of the people you’ve referred to as “window licking twats”? Just wondering if there’s any root discrimination against those people in terms of social class, race, gender etc.
