Three Lions anthem faces the axe because FA chiefs think it might offend other countries

It didn’t use to be the fa’s anthem. If I remember correctly they’d commissioned mick hucknell to write a song, the instantly forgettable ‘we’re in it together’ (i think) for the official euro 96 song. However when he was singing it at the opening ceremony Wembley crowd drowned it out with 3 lions, “it’s coming home, it’s coming home”

 

Bullshit story however to rile up the masses.

That was the UEFA official song of Euro 96 as a whole. Three Lions was England’s song.
