I think the trouble at the moment it is the detachment between football and business

LCFC is now pound shillings and pence more than football and I don’t think it will take much for BR to walk away.
I read a lot about building for the future training facility and the KP Stadium, those are business decisions made by company men/women

it would be interesting to hear if there is anyone involved at the top that have a real connection to the players, staff, supporters and understand the struggle coming our way this season, even if we keep the players that are being lined up for a move.

we need signings even to survive some are saying.
I think we will finish in the top 10 but it’s going to be a slog

That really is not going to happen.

Who would walk away from 10m a year. He will also blame everyone else for what happens like always.

I wish I shared your optimism :D

We don't need signings at all this season. We need to stick with the squad that Rodgers has been able to mould over the past 3 seasons and then we need decide in the summer what we want in the medium term. Next summer represents a massive opportunity for us to put together a new core of the team, I don't see the merit in bringing anyone in this year unless they're a top young talent that we know we'll be flipping in a couple of years anyway. If another Fofana opportunity came along then you've got to try and take it.

Football has always been run by Company men after the Eton School lost control. The difference was they were local business men who could only afford to pump their bingo money into football. But even back then there was always some business men that had more money than others and those that had an interest in football were mostly from the North more so the North West of England.

There's a good docudrama on this called "The English Game"

Someone as self and status obsessed as Rodgers is never walking away from 10 million quid

He is trying his best to get the sack! It’s going perfectly for him. Media narrative were not backing him, best players want to leave, Brendan got 5th, 5th, FA cup. They don’t breath the club and see all the horrific details, and woeful tactics, deadwood signings

Is him blaming everyone else for everything, any different than blaming him for everything ?

Yes totally.

Our set piece problem him and his chosen staff to a, accept was an issue b, sort it.

His borefest sidewards backwards tactics are his fault.

His piss poor substitutions.

Game management.

Use of new players and playing a system that really doesn't suit 50/60% of our playing staff.

His use of the press.

Is the current problem of a bloated squad on excessive wages his fault No.

Is it his fault for this ridiculous weather atm No.

Not everyone blames him for everything.

Whether you agree or not, LCFC and all football clubs are a business and need to be run by people that understand how business works to be successful. Apart from this years meltdown by our fan base the business has been run very successfully for the last decade - notwithstanding some poor decisions on the recruitment front in the last cpl of years. Susan Whelan is one of the best CEO's in the sector, and if you look at how some clubs have been run  up and down the leagues - Man Utd, Bury, Derby, Charlton, Blackburn, Newcastle under Ashley etc we have been very lucky.
