Apart from it being 'elicit' - illicit means something entirely different - the whole idea that City are managed by separate 'departments' would seem to be madness. That individuals employed by the Club for their expertise in one aspect of the game would be barred from giving their opinion on tactics and strategies affecting the whole team would be nonsensical... and, given Knudsen has worked an amazing transformation, in conjunction with Faes' input, I'd be inclined to say Knudsen has been the saving of City and of Rodgers. Ignore the shallow sneering - all the evidence points to two men doing the job that Rodgers and his team were floundering at.

As for recruitment leaving out the manager's approval - I'll never understand why he or she would tolerate being excluded from the decision making. Would anyone buy a house or car on the nod of another party?
