Pearson was a tough manager and his team had grit. Ranieri was jovial and his team was fun.

Rodgers is dispassionate and his team just exists.

Must be tough listening to him for 4 years straight. No wonder most of our lot looked so disinterested.

The systematic nature of the play isn't particularly endearing to some. So when we're bad and nothing is working, we look absolutely awful. But even today, you could tell we were still trying to play.

Maybe we could get behind them more if we abandoned the football and went with grit and endeavour and blood and thunder but equally it may not have produced a result.

It's difficult because when it clicks, we still look excellent.

I can only speak for myself (Although I think many others feeling the same way) but i've not been able to get excited or up for a game for a few years now.

I pin today on the players, they didn't look bothered or arsed. Can I blame them playing under Rodgers? Not at all. Should they have some professional pride? Absolutely.

As for myself as a fan, I also should be excited and up for games, it's my hobby, my passion, but it's just apathy. It's a horrible feeling.

We're polar opposites of what this club used to be about.

I thought the players today were a disgrace but this isn't a new team that the manager has just inherited. He still needs to go. He's been here nearly four years. If this is what has manifested then it's time to go.

That result and performance was the absolute pits, no intensity, no passion and at no stage did we ever put Newcastle under any sustained pressure.

even at 3-0 down you expect some sort of positive response and fight back in 2nd half. Who knows what would have happened if we had got an early goal back but we had already given up and accepted defeat. The lack of fight and character is most concerning. That was back to the start of the season dross again.

Makes you wonder if he has been told he isn’t getting his January transfer wish list and is having another mardy again

Considering on paper their team was no better than ours they had two things we didn't have.

Sreetsmarts, they were doing little fouls all over the pitch and getting away with it because they were on the edge of acceptable/unacceptable with the way refs are told to keep the game flowing. When we tried it we were clumsy  and over did it.

Tactics, Howe was not above going for the simple ball over the top of our back line with 2 or three running onto and past our defence. Rodgers would never allow that. He has one system whatever the formation and that is to play it from the back, control the game, lol and pass our way forward by which time their defence is packed.

I thinks he thinks he's Pep Junior, and has this delusion that he'll replace Pep next year.

We're a side that have been over Brendan'ed  - No aggression or leaders in the team and absolutely no plan B (especially during games) - Just more plan A done poorly

The use of substitutions has been staggering poor this season - The way he has not utilised some players has been appalling - I'd not be surprised if at least half of the squad want to leave

When we're bad under Rodgers we're the absolute pits. Don't remember us being as bad as we were today even under Puel. Maybe we were.

Under Puel we actually looked dangerous chasing a lead. For the last 10 minutes we’d put teams under pressure - during Rodgers’ tenure we meekly carry on with the unsuccessful plan A.

He’s almost like an absent manager, we’ve had awful attacking metrics for a long time, without Maddison scoring a low quality chance. we all of sudden look

toothless.

We’ve been worse than the sum of our parts since 2021, at first it was ‘the injuries’ and then it was the ‘lack of backing in the summer‘. It’s just Rodgers can’t coach anything coherent with this team anymore.

What’s our style of play? How do we reliably create chances? What’s our plan off the ball? What are the movement patterns?

This squad is still a top half team, man-for-man they’re just restricted to playing safe, risk averse, handbrake football.
