It might be now but will it with an extended stadium and will all those fans that are frustrated having to fork out £31 for a few matches be put off for life.

Besides the Club talks about being part of the Community this doesn't come across as being that and for what I'd imagine if you added up all the £31 it would hardly make a ripple on the overall revenues.

But my season ticket is 30 a game

Cards on the table... I am not bothered about the stadium expansion.  It may depress the atmosphere should we enjoy a protracted spell out of the epl at some point.   The extra gate money makes no difference to the club.

I can only think they are doing to provide more access to the community.

If this is the case then havibg walk up tickets... and having walk up (online) family tickets... would be great.  My kids friends live in leicestershire but have no chance of seeing a game at the kp.  These are the fans of the future

The membership thinf is nonsense

...this sounds like a contradiction to your first statement!!!

Point taken, but I’m not sure! If the stadium expands and they can’t fill the seats then yeh fair, but nothing suggests they won’t.
What’s the biggest threat to city? STH always sell out. You’ll have a few spineless motormouths on here claiming they’re not renewing but of course they renew.
The £31 won’t make a difference overall but it’s someone’s revenue centre, bonus, salary metric etc. You can’t leave money on the table and you must build the next generation of customers believing they HAVE TO buy a membership to get tickets, much like our generation got conned into sky ruling the game and did nothing about it

Aye and the £31 makes an even bigger difference to a family. I'd imagine there's plenty of young families where the adults stopped going when they started a family may now want to take their 2 kids to a game to see if they're interested they would need to fork out £31x2 + £16x2 = £93 just so they can buy tickets for a one off game - It's a nonsense they’re being priced out of becoming lifelong LCFC fans.

Got two mates who struggle to make any weekend games, but told me they fancy Sunderland.

Neither are members and have messaged me asking why 'Coming Soon' hasn't changed on the ticket site. If they hadn't seen some recent tweets I'd done about the bullshit system then they'd have sat waiting forever. Instead, that's now made them clock about the membership bollocks. Think they thought I was taking the piss about it before.

Deterring people who've followed you for 30 years but have never been in a position to get a season ticket and just want to show their support - whatever division - when they can. Good work, you fvcking prats. Top "business". :appl:

The way the club are stopping people from getting tickets if you aren't a season ticket holder or member is a joke. You a season ticket holder? I don't know if it's the same for Sunderland as the Preston game but season ticket holders could get extra tickets for friends and family but it's joke that people have to resort these sorts of measures. They should be able to buy them not have to ask friends or family who are season ticket holders to get them if they aren't a member.

Yeah, luckily I can sort them out - as long as I enter enough of their personal details for the club to commit identity fraud. Honestly, easier to get into the MCC than an LCFC game these days.

Oh I totally agree with you and the principle. But unfortunately we’ve created a weak and spineless society where we accept what we’re given. I have made my peace with that and therefore hope not to return to live in the uk for a while. Getting onto an existential point now though!!

@Foxes_Trust - will you be supporting the calls for a Championship ticket cap?

https://thefsa.org.uk/news/championship-fan-groups-call-for-efl-away-ticket-price-cap/ - FSA are fully behind it alongside Leeds and Huddersfield supporters groups. Be good see us align.

The FSA Championship Supporters Network has set up an Away Fan Working Group to look at different aspects of the away match experience, including seating allocations, supporter experiences, accessibility for fans, ticket prices and other elements of an away game. With recent discussions about increased ticket prices and potential reciprocal ticketing agreements between clubs, the group will  focus on that as a priority, which will include looking at price caps

The article you linked published by the FSA just quotes the Leeds and Huddersfield groups, so at this stage it is not an official policy of the FSA Championship Network Supporters Group

In terms of this season, we asked LCFC to seek a price cap of £30 (to match the prices our away fans paid last season), so far (as posted in the FCC minutes) most clubs have not responded to LCFC's request to look at reciprocal deals. other than Norwich (£31) and now Leeds (the first to meet our £30 request).

We have always supported away price cap proposals previously and were part of the £20 is Plenty campaign several years ago

Honestly it's such a joke the steps that need taking just for tickets.

I appreciate you coming on here to comment, but the biggest nerve this thread has touched is the cost of membership just to get a chance at tickets. You have not commented on that.

Can I ask you raise that matter with the club and share some of the comments and stories from here to show the strength of feeling?

Or do we need to join the Trust to bring that request through those channels? (ie does the Trust act for the wider supporter base or just its members?)
