Have you listened to his Dr Who audio dramas?

Loads of new material - he’s still going strong at 90!!

Gonna have to take a listen, seen some recent pics of Tom on Facebook, looks  quite thin and worn

I really enjoyed the season finale.  The reveals at the end were a little bit "is that it?" but overall it was entertaining enough.

Season as a whole has been quite strong, the standout poor episodes being the musical episode and Bridgerton.  73 yards, Boom both excellent.

But who is Mrs Flood?  lol

More to the point why is she dressed up like she's in East 17?

Imagine if the current rumours about the end of the road for the Doctor and the Amazon reboot were actually true - I truly f****g despair. Is nothing sacred or protected? Some of the new era storylines that compromised the history and continuity were bad enough, but a rebrand for a global market would be insufferable.

A purple TARDIS for the Tik Tok generation? Reinventing the original story? Harry Styles as the first Doctor.

I guess it can't be coincidental that these rumours emerged two days ago. Hilariously this is confirmed by Google's absurd generative AI overview - a feature which they have now been forced to add a disclaimer to.

It's very clear from the final episode of the series that Doctor Who has lost its way and Russell T Davies needs to go and hand it over to someone with a fresh creative vision.

There will be mixed reactions to what Doctor who has become and I think most of them on social media will be negative. Clearly there was some sort of backlash against Ncuti rightly or wrongly. Whoever is in charge for future episodes will have a herculean task to get back viewers interest and excitement.

Like Billie Piper, liked Rose Tyler... but christ certainly shows desperation when you bring back a companion from 20 years ago to play the doctor... BBC and Russell is desperate to get the fans back watching again. Two years ago they brought a popular doctor who back in David Tennant to try boost figures... made no difference... sadly Billie stands no chance. Changing the actor every two series won't help the series. Time for the BBC to realise the desire for Doctor Who is gone. Just let the show end and come up with something new, no point throwing money at something that's just not working anymore.

Since no further series have been commissioned, no actor has been put on place to play the sixteenth incarnation of the Doctor. It may possibly be that Billie Piper is earmarked for this, but her appearance is certainly to create intrigue and suspense in the absence of certainty about the show's future or who will success Ncuti Gatwa.

You'll notice that the regeneration didn't actually complete, usually the Doctor would check out the new face. Also in the credits it didn't say introducing Billie Piper as the Doctor. As SpacedX says its probably just a stop gap to create intrigue whilst they sort out the commissioning of the new series and the whos gonna play the role.

Yeah a few people have since pointed that out, looks like Piper is most likely signed up for maybe Christmas Special perhaps and that's it. I can imagine it's been done whilst they decide on the direction of the show and maybe even decide on the next actor. It's either possible we could see a new acted introduced at the ending of christmas special or as some suggested it could be left at open ending with no new actor and perhaps a very long break for the show. I somehow don't think there's plans for a new series in 2026. Bringing back Russell T Davies was a huge mistake.

Apparently there's alternative ending they had to completely be reshot and rewritten. The ending that was filmed had no regeneration, no Billie Piper, no Jodie Whittaker. Instead it was going end in a party or something there was also going to be a scene with original Susan from the 1960's was to appear which was going to lead on to the next episode which would be the christmas special featuring Ncuti Gatwa.

The re filming must have been done very recently only rumours about Gatwa leaving and Billie Piper returning only surfaced about week or two ago. Of course the viewing figures and fan reviews have forced the producers make a swift decision.

The ending does feel disjointed and added on, like things needed to be wrapped up quickly. Of course more things will come out in years to come and what happened on set.

The Disney deal ends after the spin off episodes coming soon. No idea why it needs a spin off. Torchwood was ok, but this wants to make Dr Who more gritty and make a universe that won't work. If Disney drop it, BBC won't be able to afford the same sort of budget (£10m an episode as opposed to the usual £1m for any other BBC drama) and it will have to go.

They built up Susan and then did nothing with it. There has been a lot since Davis came back that breaks the Chekov's gun of writing, which is dreadful in my eyes. Davis broke a few moulds with his first run. He was on record of saying he wanted to bring a bit more camp than before into the show, bringing in polyamourus Captain Jack and a few other nods to making things more progressive. This season there seems to have tried to be progressive with some points (trans rights, pronouns, equal opps for differently abled etc) but instead of making it a point of the story they are just shoehorned in (The meep telling us their pronouns and then it not becoming anything relating to the story, making a point a characther is trans for no reason but to tell you they are trans etc) to make a point and I honestly think to do it to dogwhistle the Mail and other places like that to drive up attention and publicity for the show. Any publicity is good publicity according to them. Any part of a script or story mentioend should be there for a point. Always of the principle "remove everything that has no relevance to the story. If you say in the first act that there is a rifle hanging on the wall, in the second or third act it absolutely must go off. If it's not going to be fired, it shouldn't be hanging there."

Ncuti was great. I was looking forward to more of him. I think it's starting to run it's course again. Moffat jumped just as the corner was turned, Chibnall really screwed the pooch and the correction attempt reeked of Davis doesn't know what to do outside of what he has already done. Any other characther could have played that Doctor, but they tried a safe bet and it failed, at the same time making bi-regeneration a thing to keep his pal Tennant in it. Ncuti had some great stories, but both seasons ended flat. Davis then boxed in a corner goes "people liked Billie Piper. Lets bring her back and get some clicks and news. Hopefully then Disney sign a new deal."

She won't be the doctor as she wasn't introduced as The Doctor, just her name. She will be The Moment, but since she looks nothing like The Moment any more as she has gone for the botox and lips that everyone over 20 seems to do now, they look like 2 different people. No Christmas special was teased or been confirmed. All that has been confirmed is a 20 year documentary thing.

Feels like the time is right to shut it off again for a decade or two until people remember it should be a silly sci fi show, it doesn't need to go down the Avengers route, which is also now falling apart.

Seems like if it was axed no many people would be too dissapointed, think most fans would prefer the break and get RTD away from the show. It may return in 3 to 4 years and perhaps a full reboot... and when say reboot i mean serious reboot that will start from scratch and will not be connected to the original series. Next doctor of the reboot will be considered the 1st doctor.

Itll be like the James Bond reboot of 2006 with Casino Royale, where they decided to start again, with a new time line. What created the reboot was how daft Die Another Day was... similar to the last Doctor Who series.

The show we remain with the BBC, but Disney may decide to take full charge. In terms selecting writers, directors, casting etc...BBC will just be responsible for showing it. Perhaps part of the reboot you may see a big name being lured in by Disney.. like a Jude Law or something... whose just done Star Wars series for Disney.

That series was quite a good return to form... until the last two episodes. RTD2 completely fumbled it. Seriously disappointing. No offence to Piper but it just seems like this show has run out of ideas. It'll wind up Laurence Fox tho, which is nice.

Have finally caught up with this season. I must I admit I enjoyed it. I think Varadha like Millie are natural companions and both took their roles really well. The twists in the final episode where The Doctor was forgetting was pretty eerie. That and 73 yards in the last series were really well created from a storyline perspective.

My only gripes firstly Omega being the creator of Time Lords was pretty sh*** lol

Secondly everyone seemed to be ignoring the elephant in the room that the Doctor did have a daughter Jenny under the Tennant run. Yet acted like it was his first time. She's canon guys!

But I hope it isn't the end. As a Doctor Who fan, like with the MCU, I hear the noise but from a personal viewpoint I will always want more content
