We will have better ball playing centre-backs next season. There is no way he starts off with Vestergaard at CB. Faes and Justin are good enough imo.

That won’t be enough though. To play this style successfully we will need probably 6 very good players. We’re not spending North of £100 million even with sales.

I'm hoping and personally think you may be wrong. Think most of the first team has proven they can play this style more than adequately. As long as we don't rest players Bournemouth could be a really good litmus test for us

I mean, he did miss a number of perfect opportunities. I’m just pleased he didn’t take the pen, might’ve knocked my hot chocolate out my hand.

Watching on TV at home then were you?

I'm not sure what people want. We dominated the game and possession. Swansea rarely looked a threat. We were in total control for large periods. Scored 2 minutes in. Nearly scored a few minutes later. Daka missed a sitter soon after. Mavididi hit the bar. KDH missed a sitter in the 2nd half. A few other chances. We could have scored 6 or 7. We still won 3-1 in the end.

If people don't like it, I wonder what they don't like, the tactics or the not taking of chances? Because I'd have more respect for people who don't like it if they still wouldn't be a fan even if we had of scored 6 or 7, but it felt like most of the frustration was that fact that we were 'only' 1-0 up and this imagined fragility that we were going to somehow throw points away.

If we were playing a premier league game tomorrow I’d want a new centre back, left back, centre mid, winger and striker starting

@Ric Flair is spot on when he says a lot of Daka's problem is actually his balance.

When Daka is balanced and composed in front of goal I'd back him to finish consistently. I know people (including me) bang on about his hattrick in Russia so much it's basically a meme but in all three of those goals he was well set, ice cool, poised and just tucked them away off both feet.

Equally goals spring to mind against Legia home, Everton home and Brighton away  that are extremely similar to his goals at Spartak not to mention Forest at home, a Vardyesque back heel, where he's been well balanced.

But then he also seems to have these weird moments where he's sort of dribbling almost slightly away from goal or he's just miles off balance and swings his leg half at the ball and is having to hook it back. He's very much got an instep technique shooting and he's really accurate when he's set and it's really hideous when he's not and his general centre of gravity seems to be terrible.

By contrast, you can see why Cannon draws comparisons to Nugent. He's very much got Nugent's centre of gravity, he always seems to be balanced and always seems to be set, gives him really consistent ball control. He's not Messi but he is still pretty sharp in possession and he's got a great technique for just drilling through the ball, makes him much better with a snap shot.

End of the day, they're both excellent strikers for this level and I'm happy if either starts. I think Daka's pace gives the whole team an extra something. That's how many games so far that Daka has played and we've scored three or more? You can't keep putting that down to luck, we're consistently more productive and have consistently better output when he plays.

You're welcome...

Then perhaps try punctuation instead?

I think a lot of people are confusing boring with bad....

We are an incredibly boring team to watch, we are however an incredibly good team for this league.

We never played particularly badly in any part of the game last night aside from the late goal maybe. What we did however was play in a non progressive way for large parts of the match, not bad just boring.

To build on this - i think people are confusing 'boring' with 'considered'.  Not saying there aren't times when it could be more dynamic, but i rather enjoy the sight of us toying with opponents.

It's a fine line, it seems between 'gerrit forard' and 'óle!'

I'm not sure any more what people actually expect from a football match or even from the sport in general.

I blame it on the internet and the onset of global ADHD.

And you also have the choice to walk. You clearly contribute nothing to the club. Goodbye.

I thought Swansea pressed us at the back better than most teams.

Quality told, though.

Agreed.  Swansea weren't great but they pressed us more than most teams and didn't allow us to pass the ball as much as we usually do.  They made it scrappy.

But yes, quality told

It’s embarrassing being a City fan at times. I’m glad there’s only a handful of fans of other clubs on here.

We’ve had a ridiculously amazing journey with this club, stuff that 99.9% of football fans globally could only ever dream about. We’ve actually won stuff, big stuff, with some incredible, legendary players, all with the added bonus of having done it from the position of underdog.

We are top of our division, ten points clear, which instantly and totally invalidates any argument about how we play. How people can complain now I have no idea. Late-stage BR was the time for that.

Football is a sport, sport is about being competitive. I’m miserable when we lose and ecstatic when we win, so I’m a huge fan of Enzo because he’s made me happy a lot this season. It’s that simple for me. Winning is the entertainment, and if I want some guaranteed entertainment I’ll stick a film on or listen to some music.

That should have been ruled out for hand ball I was at that end, no wonder mads was fuming 1 minute away from his clean sheet

Did not see that. Still it was badly handled by all involved.
