Gym Trainers

Recommended Posts

Depends on your budget.

If you can afford perhaps £70-£80 I'd say ASICS are the most comfortable IMO.

On a strict budget you can pick up a decent pair of Kelanjis from Decathlon for £20-30 that do the job.

They all have different fits, so difficult to recommend.
The best thing to do is go along to a sport shop and try several on and see what are best / most comfortable
so depends on what you are doing at the gym. If it is mainly cardio, you will want running shoes. If you are doing lots of free weights, something different (don’t know what - not my thing).

if you were happy with your old trainers, just go for the latest version of the same model.

Adidas EQT's for me. Super lightweight and so comfortable. Like theirs nothing on your feet.

I’ve got slightly wider feet, so Adidas are a no for me (they tend to be quite narrow).

Nike Pegasus are my go-to.

Current ones I have are finally giving up and now rubbing up my feet a bit on the treadmill

Any recommendations?

Fully depends what your goals are - general gym goals, solely running, solely lifting etc

Sorry to bump a dead thread, but over the last year I have been suffering with plantar fasciitis which is becoming increasingly debilitating. Whilst I am completing stretches, exercises etc and have had some orthotics I was wondering if anyone can recommend any specialist trainers? I need it sorting as I have had reconstructive surgery on the opposite knee and this is now becoming problematic due to the heel. Anyone suffered? Do the exercises and stretches work? Any trainers hat have miraculously cured it? Thanks

Thanks boss. I’ll have a gander. It’s quite the fcuker isn’t it and I’m glad you’ve been able to manage the symptoms and are now pain free.

Ones I got were a fiver, instant pain relief and was back to playing football immediately.

I had the same issue, and tried different orthotics, socks and various different types of physio, stretching, strengthening, etc - nothing worked.  The only thing I found that worked was Shockwave Therapy. Shockwave Therapy | The Injury Clinic (theinjuryclinicmarketharborough.co.uk)

6 sessions sorted me out, and been pain free since.
