Mace was on crutches and full leg brace at the end. A few of us thought we heard something snap just before she went down, poor lass was in tears. Give credit to Lucy Bronze who stayed with her during initial treatment.

I felt we were in the game at 2-1 but the subs changed it, the last 20 we didn’t pose a threat and they kill the game with the 3rd.

Couldn't watch the game as I don't have Sky and it was very difficult to find a stream.

There wasn't a capitulation like we've seen before. And from what I have seen, mostly in the game against a side that is walking the league.

It's progression, though I am wary that I thought that near the end of last season and believed we could really kick on from being relegation potential every season...

We've had near on no fit attacking options all season so I would expect us to kick on next year. Of course we would need someone new additions but the foundations are there. My only concern is the WSL is becoming just as un-competitive as the mens league. You may as-well give next seasons title to Chelsea already and I doubt there'll be any surprises in the top 6. They'll just get further and further away from the rest of us which makes for a very boring league.

And it may get worse….I think a lot hinges on this potential expansion with no relegation, the bottom half club owners will spend less as it doesn’t matter who finishes bottom.

Completely agree with that, my fear is the pure amount of the core squad are out of contract in the summer and the fact that the transfer policy is similar to that of the mens team... Minimalist.

On top of the fact that every other team in the league will also have the same mentality of kicking on too, most of which are probably slightly more appealing to better players considering our league positions in prior seasons.

You're right, that would be the mentality of a poorly run club, as at the point relegation is opened back up again, you're only setting yourself up to just get relegated straight away.

I'm not so upset with them getting rid of relegation for a couple of seasons if they promote a couple of teams each season and it expands the league, short term pain for long term gain.

If you just promote 4+ teams off the bat, the newly promoted teams are just going to struggle with the sudden jump in quality/fitness, which we see enough of already.

I’ve been saying this since the WSL was created. The FA and others in pursuit of the £££s missed the opportunity to create a genuinely level competitive league. Sure it may have taken longer to grow organically but they could have for example ruled that every professional club above a certain level paid a % of turnover etc to fund a WL rather than allowing current clubs to own them.
We are left with this uncompetitive clone of the PL.

Its so sad to see.

What happened to Doncaster and that clubs were just entered in a high division because of their men club status was just very wrong.
It would have been a great platform to implement fixed wage caps, that sort of thing, and to also enforce equal media coverage etc.

2 tough away games over with in the last 4 days without disgrace. Couple of winnable home games next against Brighton and Spurs.

Better than the men at least they've got pride.

CP 1-0 against Villa that’s not very good for us.

is it not? Our goal difference is miles better than Palaces, and besides, Villa are a right mess and liable to go down

The feeling of safety has gone a little bit after that result, but it really is in our own hands.

We have 3 out of 4 winnable home games left and we play Palace 2nd to last game of the season.

Need some of these results sooner than later. Pressure will come into play if we don’t

Stay up this season and immune for a few seasons as there is a proposal to grow the league by keeping promotion with no relegation for a few years.

I won’t bother if the no relegation plan comes in, it’ll just be an excuse not to invest and reduce games to meaningless friendlies with no threat of relegation.
