@SK3Blue Got any inside info on what's happened to Sari Kees? She's not played in the league since the 1-1 with Chelsea in December. I thought she looked like our best defender, and one of the better passers of the ball, for the first part of the season.

I haven’t mate sorry, as far as I know she picked up a knock a while back and that’s all I’ve got. She was at the game yesterday along with CJ, Ruby, Rantala etc.

Looks very comfortable on the ball and passing accuracy was high. It’s a strange one because you never get any injury updates from Miquel in the pressers.

Rantala was supposed to be 4 months (even though Miquel said 2) Petermann I seriously worry for her, Denny is struggling too with long term injuries.

London City Lionesses are getting promoted.  Leicester need to hope there is no relegation next season or they're toast.

Absolutely, LCL will be looking to get hold of quality players, paying big wages, will certainly shake up the league.

I find the Rantala situation gets weirder and weirder week on week. With how important she was/is for our season last year and often carried the team on her back, you would think they'd be more open with updates.

I wondered if it was maybe due to a level of care she would get? Like, are the women's team going to pay for care at the same level as the men's teams? (Knowing a lot of ops will take place in places like America with world renowned specialists)

Maybe there's a physiological reasoning? Not long ago it was mentioned on here that there is a ACL problem in the women's game, does it go further than that?

Makes the women's game feel a lot more grass-roots than it should be.

I believe they are well looked after by the club when it comes to injuries. I’ve always been told it’s the same treatment as the men would get.

There has been a few stories on social media where women were facing 15/20k bills for ACL operations in the lower leagues, I remember one player setting up a fundraising page when she was at Stoke.

As for Rantala, it is a weird one, I always see her after games, but don’t like to ask, it’s certainly dragged on and it’s 7 months now.

Cain is on her way out of the club, having had 2 x ACL’s. I’d expect an announcement soon on her. There’s a few others as well that would rather go, than stay it seems.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that the owners have money but haven't been able to invest in the men's side due to FFP/PSR/whatever acronym it is these days.  The women's team don't have that consideration so they could invest more but haven't done so which suggests a lack of will.

Meanwhile Birmingham have equalised against London City - one more goals and they get promoted instead.

My own take is the owners no longer have the desire (and might not even have the money considering KP's problems) to spend in the club other than to fund PSR losses.  Its not hard to come to this conclusion, the man who fell in lvoe with the club passed away, stadium paused (likely stopped, but no balls to say it how it is), they wont even provide the previous level of sponsorship funding, and of course the state of both men and womens teams.
PSR is such a great cloud for them, it allows fans to think they want to invest the money but PSR is holding them back.

What are the contracts like?

Should we expect a lot of squad turnover / renewals this summer?

Last season a lot of the contracts were in the clubs favour I’m told. This is the current situation. I’ve heard there’s a few going or not keen on the offer from the club and they are popular players too. Cain is the only one I’m 100% on the rest is 80% probability.

Heard anything about Leitzig or Rantala?

Out of the 2025 lot they are the 2 I think where we need to do everything we can to keep them

Nothing on Leitzig, outside chance Rantala I’ve heard, her injury is hardly spoken about and well over the expected return date now so it could put a fair number of clubs off I guess from taking the risk. We have so many players with lengthy spells out and no updates, Petermann, Kees, Denny Draper…

As well as Rantala and Leitzig, Goodwin is another that we should also really be tying down.

I would also be very concerned if Momiki left, the thing that I think may benefit us with her is that, she's a standout player for us, but I'm not sure she would get into those top half clubs starting 11's regularly.

I've liked Rose when she's come on, but it's so rarely that she gets more than 15 minutes in a game, it's probably not likely she will stay.

I'd like us to also keep Takarada, Thibaud and O'Brien.

Wouldn't be too upset about the rest...

Agree on Rose, also Nevin hasn’t had much Football. Pretty sure Pelgander will stay in Sweden.

CJ Bott needs to stay imo.

No budget discussed, seems like she doesn’t know exactly where some players are at with contract discussions.

We know next season will be Chossonotte and Mouchon up top, she’ll be first one sacked in my opinion.

Seems to think bottom but one is a success.  She can point to injuries but she’s had Missy, Las, Shannon, Eiriksdottir, Cain, Chossonotte and Karla Torres all available in the second half of the season in forward positions. Playing Shannon as striker when she should be down the left, Rose plays through the middle for Canada at times but Miquel seems to overlook her completely.

The list of players whos contracts run out is scary. That's one hell of a window just keeping half of them let alone new signings. There's plenty on that list other clubs better than us will be interested in. Big big window coming up. She had my support with all the injuries we had but I agree the second half of the season didn't pick up at all considering we had attacking players back. The key thing for me will be what budget she has to work with, which will be bugger all no doubt. I've mentioned to you before, that idiot kirk really did fu*k things up for us. just when we looked like making progress. I really feel for the players as we have such good potential to be successful.

Kirk has a lot to answer for. Cain is definitely going. There’s 3 key players who are more likely to be off than not, not naming them but my source is reliable. All depends on teams coming in for them but as mentioned before London City will shake up wages now and get other teams raising the game on wages.

LCFC always used to get our business done early with the men’s team, we seem to be a mess with that now,  firefighting and playing catch up with both men’s and women’s teams.

Im just not confident that she can pull a side together.

Rantala, Mace, Momiki I would have thought. Rantala has been the biggest miss of our season for me.

Not heard anything about Ruby, and far better for her to be a standout player than go back to a big team with less opportunities I would have thought.

Miquels old team Reims were relegated so I hope she doesn’t raid them.

I don't think Miquel is a bad manager as the way she seems to approach games would tend to be what I'd expect (though obviously I'm not a football manager either, I just can't complain too much). I just don't think we've got the quality across the team to contend consistently. So the worry is that rather than building, we end up doing damage limitation.

We had a really good run of form as we started to see player return from injury, but it's tailed off as we've secured safety, read into that what we will...

Concerned Momiki is going to be one of those off, reading her body language recently, she doesn't seem happy...
