Cooper was never any of those things so a little late and unfair to beat him with it now.

Why he got the job, youd have to ask the morons who gave it to him.

Perhaps the main reason was he could rebuild in the championship???

Nothing about Cooper that is stand out. Big Nige had his trainers, Brendan had the Gucci Belt and chapped lips, Sousa with the jeans, Enzo's baldness. Even Dean Smith has a better haircut.

Needs to either go full club shop or Keir Starmer suits.

Puels waistcoat gilet was iconic..

People who are charismatic  exude warmth and competence!  They are likable with good social, motivational and communication skills.  They may be attractive, charming and have a sense of humour.  They may demonstrate slightly unconventional behavior.

Do you think we'd do better with a manager like that ?     If so, which of the above 10 qualities does Mr Cooper have?

Attractive and charming it all makes sense now

Don't buy into this stuff. You can be a 'vibes' man but it will only get you so far. Wouldn't say Pep, Arteta, Slot, Maresca, Ten Haag have too many of these qualities either

They all exude confidence though. Cooper seems to struggle to look people in the eye.

Its confidence end of. Its the belief in what your doing and having the confidence the communicate that vision to your team to help them buy into it. Lord Nige and O’Neill were charismatic, but they had an understanding of what they were doing and were always competent at developing their squad around their vision.

Very true

The player tunnel should be like this - only with Pearson's face.

No, it should be Tom Hopper's leather Cheerio with a Thai hooker tongue punching it.

Football heritage.

The centering of the text on this post is giving me a panic attack and setting off my OCD.

Wenger wasn't exactly charismatic but he gave Arsenal their best years. You could probably say the same for Pearson down here. Leader and great man manager but he wouldn't be in your top 5 charismatic characters.

There's a lot to be said for right person with the right players at the right time too

Disagree, Pearson had plenty of charisma, just not with the media. As a fan I loved his honesty and dry humour.

In answer to the question I think it’s a really useful trait. Players need to believe in what you are saying, charm and confidence are a huge part of that. Players respond very differently depending on how motivational the manager is and that is personality. There are some exceptions of course, but it doesn’t help if everyone thinks you’re awkward or not likeable.

Pearson is very charismatic and always struck me as a mans man and a players manager - If you were a big time Charlie, shirker or a serial under achiever generally speaking your feet wouldn't touch the ground with him.

My gawd how we could do with a prime Pearson now

I know these things aren't really comparable but I think he's the only man since Pearson to leave us in a higher position than when he
