Good for the race with Verstappen on pole in a way .

Not so great to have more delays due to grass fires.

 

I think this qualifying session albeit just one of course shows the problem with the Red Bull.

 

Their main man on pole with the second driver 15th behind both Racing Bulls ( Hadjar impressive again ) and a Haas , Williams x 2 and an  Alpine.

Not seen it but going by the BBC text did McLaren favour Norris  over Piastri  just  letting Verstappen get away ?

Nah not really, Piastri got close a few times but seemed like Norris was just harvesting at the time

No orders were given none of them could overtake eachother

Harsh, I mean he is washed but I think it was always gonna take him a fair chunk of races to adapt to Ferrari. This move was nothing more of a marketing gimmick mind.

Suzuka always used to be one of the more exciting tracks back in the day, but that sounded like a candidate for the worst grand prix of all time in terms of entertainment.

Fair enough .

BBC probably just hoping for some action .

No over takes in the top 6 and not much elsewhere .

Even the drivers suggested it was dull .

Seemed like Zac didn't want to let the Number 2 driver past, even though it could have secured his team more points. 

Why not let him through and if he didn't catch Max swap positions back?

Sometimes I don't understand the thought process.

Verstappen was excellent and dominated but McLaren seemed happy to be 2-3.

Almost as if they just let him go and thought they will get Max next week or the week after .

Piastri didn't catch Lando because he couldn't catch him. It's as simple as that surely. There were no instructions as far as we heard for them not to race each other.

After last season, you don't think they've been told no fighting, or more specifically, you don't think Paistri has been told not to attack Norris? 

 

Zac made it clear Norris is the number 1 driver and I don't think he will ask him to let Piastri past to show Norris he's still number 1. 

 

Oscar was practically begging to get at Max but because "this is Norris' pace" he had to stay behind. Why take 2nd and 3rd if there's a chance if 1-3? Personal opinion. The were happy to out score Redbull in the constructors with the 2 3 and no upsetting Norris. Just wrong
