Magnificent win for Stan Moody against John Higgins at the World Open today.

Meanwhile Oliver Sykes finally earned his tour card at the weekend. The best three English talents imo in Stan Moody, Liam Pullen and Oliver Sykes now all on tour.

Nobody touches Xintong in the longer format. Only way he doesnt win the world championship is if someone has the game of their life and beats him in round 1.

Phenomenal achievement to win all three players series events in the same season.

Zhao is really starting to build that aura about him where players are fearful, bit like Littler in Darts and Sinner and Alcaraz in Tennis.

But the Crucible does funny things to players, roll on the next few weeks

Bingyu makes another 147 in qualifying.  He'd already made one in the UK championship qualifying, now in the world championship qualifying.  And receives a nice bonus of £147,000.

vafaei just needed the colours for a 147 missed a simple green.

Other notable stories from qualifying.
Sam Craigie docked a frame for arriving late then loses match 10-9

Amateur Sykes made a 146

With just Pink and Black remaining Ian burns gets the snooker he needed in the deciding frame but loses match on the black.

Marco fu wins a decider on final black.

David Gilbert made 12 consecutive 50+ breaks inc 4 centuries.

Not a good outing for the Leicester players in qualifying this year, Heathcote, Ford and O’Connor all out before Judgement Day.

Chance of a few up and coming players to get to the Crucible on judgement day, Liam Pullen one of Jiang Jun or Stan Moody, Aaron Hill, Piefan and Bingyu too.

Ronnie wins the john virgo trophy beating higgins 6-0 in the final..  Apparently Ronnie was very close to John, it was a great event and the crowd in ireland were amazing.

Aaron Hill is who Dave Gilbert has got on Tuesday morning.

Dave played really well in the previous round to win 10-3 making a 50+ break in 12 out of the 13 frames.

Don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous watching a Judgment Day lol

Was desperate for Liam Pullen and Stan Moody to secure their debuts, a great night for the future of British Snooker.

And a great story for Polish Snooker with Kowalski qualifying, Poland are really starting to produce some young talents.
