Bigger overlap between the two fan bases plays a massive part

Your average Forest fan is more likely to work with/ know a Derby fan than a Leicester fan

Places like Long Eaton, Ilkeston, Heanor etc are basically a 50/50 split between the two..

It’s almost like Leeds hating Bradford the most though, or Cardiff hating Newport more than Swansea.

The weird lot at Forest persist with ‘hating Derby more’ despite them being so far behind Nottingham and Leicester on and off the field.

Does the surname Ellison ring any bells as a school teacher?

It does, but not a teacher I had though, looking back had some great times, Derby and Leicester rivalry was always good, Mr Blackburn and Mr Sharp ran the School Footy team

Mr Ian Sharp at Ivanhoe? He was still there as a PE teacher when I was there in 97-2000! Was he a northerner IIRC?

Bob Ellison at AGS was/is my grandad. Was big mates with Mr Quigley

Tbh I’ve lived in Derby and the whole city has a chip on its shoulder when it comes to Nottingham so can see it from a Derby perspective

The Forest side less so

Feels like this is the weakest rivalry out of the 3.

Depends where you live but in the 90s it was just us and them for about 5 or 6 years.

I don’t have any hate for any of them really. It’s a bit childish to get as angry as some can do.

It’s annoying that we’ve fallen so far more than anything. I actually think Forests story this season is brilliant. I don’t really want them to win games but when they do I think of all the dads, mums, carers and kids enjoying those moments and about to go on a European Tour similar to ours. Kids supporting their local teams and going into school with bragging rights. That’s brilliant. My mate travels home and away with them and it’s kind of nice to see him happy after years of shite.

Derby, I enjoyed our 90’s battles, the baseball ground and then PP, the 4-0 of course. Auto Windscreens Vs Walkers Crisps were decent battles.

Forget Coventry? Leicesters the place…

Ridiculously reasoned and rationale - You're not from around here are you boy?

Hahaha

TBH I grew up near Market Harborough so I most definitely wasn’t in a post code populated with Forest, Derby or Cov fans!

Fair play. So you have an irrational hatred of The Cobblers and are still basking in the 1-0 pre season win at the Sixfields Stadium in July 2023. I went for a piss and missed KDHs goal - still fuming

Who are ya!

Each to their own, but personally I'd prefer to see the scum playing at Barnet rather than Barcelona.

You clearly never visited the swamp and heard the A-block spew racist bile at us for decades.

They sank even lower on the night of Clive Clarke's heart attack and accused him of faking it to get the game abandoned.

I could never wish those creatures well.  It sickens me to think that they will be representing our region, and our country, in Europe next season. 😟

Derby away has always been a decent day out, with cracking pubs and (generally) vibes to match.

Loved going into the Brunswick pub near the train station and hearing locals talk pre-match of how the sheep were absolutely guaranteed to give us a doing.

Needless to say, Foxes - whether under Little, MON or even Taylor (😯) - would often have other ideas. It was pure bliss to go back into the pub after such victories and see those fans licking their wounds and drowning their sorrows.

In particular, the 4-0 win in 1998 - when we demolished them in the first 15 minutes, and in front of Sky cameras too - retains a prominent place in this Fox's list of all-time favourite away days.

They are absolutely hopeless and almost certain to go down, can't score goals and clearly not good enough.

2 wins and 4 goals since this post lol
