The US needs another Watergate.

Watergate worked because the both the evidence and source were so compelling and moral compasses were such that even Nixons own party turned on him.

Sadly, I can't see the same being true today, seeing that Trump has already been allowed to get by with acts that make Nixon look clean by comparison.

The end result of there being no "single point of truth".

The White House has pushed back against reports that President Donald Trump is among hundreds of names that appear in justice department documents relating to the late convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The claims were "nothing more than a continuation of the fake news stories concocted by the Democrats and the liberal media", a White House spokesman said.

If that's true, then there's no harm in making such files public.

Is there, Mr Spokesman?

The new South Park episode is going to go down very well with Trump, the below isn’t even the worst of it… lol

Just watched it this morning, it's brilliant.  Literally launch this episode a day after securing the new Paramount deal toolol.  The desert walk bit at the end had me in tears.

The choice of an expensive hotel in Central London seems like a well thought out plan to house the next wave of illegal immigrants.
Whatever the cost was going to be can also now be doubled for the round the clock police protection it will need all summer.

Have you ever stayed in a Brittania hotel? They are absolute dumps.

Less about the cost, but more about the optics of doing this. The Gov't have basically goaded people into protesting.

I'm pretty sure you're right here.

Bait, trap, neutralise.

You might be on to something here, does seem like they are trying to provoke a reaction. Perhaps they want to jail another load of “far right protesters “.
Would explain why the police have started to transport pro immigration activists straight to the opposing mob! 😂

Be interesting if this is a new tactic for potential public order incidents. Will make away games more interesting next year.
Load of Police outside of Coventry train station “alright lads, Leicester fans are you? Just give us a minute and we will give you a police escort straight to  Cov’s main boozer.”

yeah it's definitely "the government" trying to provoke a reaction.

Tbh If it is, then it's rather savvy because they win regardless of course of action taken by the parties they're trying to provoke.

Bloody hell lol Fantastic stuff.

I just hope Parker and Stone have their legal teams warmed up.

Parodies in America are protected by the First Amendment as a form of expression, so they will be fine again :)

I'm sure they've checked it with the legal eagles beforehand.

Either way, the reaction will be fun to witness.

They also literally joke about it being cancelled in the episode.  Spoiler alert...but Jesus is doing a sermon on the mount explaining that Paramount own CBS and that he can't speak freely as he doesn't want to end up like Colbert.

Police the only public sector without anything released with regards to pay increase prior to government recess as usual.

Loads more officers working second jobs.

Over 20% decrease in pay over 15 years.

No wonder it’s mainly 18-25 year olds applying.

i think you'll find virtually everyone in the population has had a pay decrease in relative terms over the last 15 years.

Doctors got the 22% and then 5%.

Ability to strike makes a difference it seems.

Maybe the police could trade some of their pension provision for up front salary? but ultimately, in terms of total reward change, Police have fared better than doctors across the same timescales.

Employer pension contributions increased from ~21.3% → 31% (2020–2023)35.3% from April 2024....  That's a crazy high pension even by public sector standards!
