FIFA used to be fun, Ultimate Team was fun – until they started to squeeze the lemon harder and harder, with more and more special cards. All of that while the gameplay got worse and worse with each year.

 

I remember beating a really good player online with a bronze team squad full of Koreans in FIFA 13. It made the guy so mad.

 

I wish they'd reinstate previous servers, so I can go back and play FUT 17, 19 or 21 again.

When getting Icons was actually an accomplishment and/or rarity.

There was 100% DDA back in those days of Fifa. The silver Brazilian cards weren't hugely inflated in price for no reason...they were fundamentally broken(Kelvin, Cristiano). Some hidden mechanic that tried to level the playing field but instead they just went fully the other way and made your high tier gold cards just completely s**t the bed.

I did come across a nice Braybrooke card, rated 91 and goes for cheap.

I downloaded this earlier as it’s on PS Plus. 
 

I haven’t played it in years.

 

I got a x3 Icon pack for Ultimate team.

 

Can I just say that it feels really clunky and slow. 
 

It feels like I’m playing Acutu Scoccer or ISS 64.

So after week playing this and doing a pile of SBCs, objectives and Evos, I was reminded of why I hate this game and have for quite a long time.

 

Getting your squad better only to have to fight for your life in a squad battles match on 'pro' because EA haven't bothered to alter how the AI plays in forever is infuriating and a big reason why I stopped playing.

Soooooooooo anyone bothering with 27 😂 half tempted as I didn’t buy this one but may wait until it’s a bit cheaper . I know it’s likely the same as 26 so won’t be much different

I only got 26 because it was free and I know I said I uninstalled it, but I actually went back to playing it.

 

It truly is terrible, but I like the Evo's and thats really what I spend the most time on.

 

Joining in FUT at TOTS, followed by a really good World Cup promo was enough to keep it interesting with all the objectives and such.

 

I'm still glad I never paid for it and don't see myself buying the next one. I see a lot of talk online(again) about people not buying 27, but most still will I'd imagine.

 

I did see the trailer and I do like the look of what they've done with 'The Grounds', which of course is just a rip-off of what 2K have in their NBA games.

I think the main thing I liked doing was just the sbc at the start on the app 

played clubs a few times when the game was free with my brother but other than that I can’t justify paying for.  feel like there wasn’t much going on here for 26 imagine it won’t change much for 27

A great start to see the new game has now been given a 16 rating by PEGI. Although it should be higher IMO based on current gambling mechanics. Still harrowing to see big corporations exploit young people with awful, awful mechanics. 

 

The sooner loot boxes are binned off in all games the better. It'll come. 

 

Also the games are trash so anyone who buys them and then complains, is the problem.

Goes for like 2.7 mill, but I think I will keep him!

Couldnt believe the price when i saw it. Ive not played this one for months. Just doing a backlog of games i wanted to play but never got round to because i was playing this muck over the years. Still cant believe theyve charged this amount and GTA6 is about £90 for the premium edition. Think this game will fold in the next 5 years or so.

Yeah think it comes down to about £120-£125. I usually buy the ultimate edition and its around £82 from £90 or it might have been more for fc26 i cant remember. Ive just found the gameplay getting worse year on year but a rise in price is not worth it. Think the last one i enjoyed was Fifa 18. But its each to their own. When you break it down over 10 months of playing its not that bad. Just dont think its for me now.

If you play UT spend points and do the season pass its brilliant value imo. 

 

Its effectively another 11k points(I think) with the pass then monthly points. Which would be around £70/£80. 

 

IF I get this FC it'll be my last. Undecided.

With all due respect, Ash - the fact that this is considered as an acceptable price is absolutely why this game needs to die. Pay-to-win and gambling mechanics have absolutely puddled people's minds. They're setting a dangerous precedent. This isn't GTA6, it's another reskin of the same tired, regurgitated EAFC game we've seen for the last decade+.

EA won't be around in 5 years IMO. Now the vulture capitalists have taken over and have loaded it with debt. Next, it'll be asset stripped and staff and expenses will be cut to the bone. And all the fantastic executives and investors will steer the company into the nearest financial iceberg. EAFC will only get worse from now on (if that's even possible).

 

I feel sorry for the devs who only follow the instructions of the ****ing awful decision makers. They're forced to turn around a game every year and find ways to absolutely rinse the players of every penny. 

 

But EA have swallowed up and shat out umpteen beloved developers themselves (RIP Westwood and Bullfrog) - it does feel like there's a certain amount of comeuppance here.

I only play UT but never buy points when i have the game. Very ocasionally done the upgrade on the season pass so not worth me getting for 2 months until GTA comes out. I have to say i was suprised at what we are being charged between the 2 games. I was expecting it to be the other way around. Rockstar have knocked EA out the park on this one.
