The semi-final against Spurs when Ian Wilson chipped our keeper from the edge of the box 😒. i'd just picked up my boat on the Broads for a week. Ruined day one...and two...and...

The fifth round 1969 at Anfield, Andy Lochead scored the winner with a great header, and Peter Shilton saved a penalty.

The media were always praising the Liverpool fans for how sporting they were. Which they were when they were winning all the time. But when we got back to the coaches they had put all the windows in. Just goes to show they didn't like losing, much like the rest of us!!

4th Rnd vs Bury in 1976. Won 1-0 Bob Lee goal. My first Leicester game though because my Dad was from Blackpool & we had seen them a couple of times before together.  For me it was a proper Nick Hornby moment.

50 years later and they still drag me through the wringer even though I live miles away now.

Hurry up and find a new manager ffs.

LEICESTER CITY 4 CITY 3

FA Cup 4th Round Replay

19th February 1968

Attendance 39,107

Scorers
City Lee(6 pen), Summerbee(24), Bell(88)
Leicester Fern(44), Large(48 & 63), Nish(57)

Shilton, Rodrigues, Bell, Roberts, Cross, Sjoberg, Fern, Nish, Large, Stringfellow, Gibson

Only 39,107 present! I thought it was the usual 42,000 in those days. In reality they never turned anyone away in pay at the gate games, couldn't move some games, great times. One of my all time favourite games with the 3-2 against Liverpool after being 2 down, probably a league game.

Tarnished as the game had no crowd but the performance against Man U in the quarter final was our best I've seen ever.

We controlled the game almost totally, except fornan against the run of play goal from Greenwood.

Total, suffocating control.

It was said in the days after that they thought that there was 45,000 plus at the game.  It was solid wall to wall people.

Harlow Town away in 1980 and Exeter City away in 1981. Now what could possibly go wrong? 😱

Didn't go to Harlow' but was at Exeter,  remembering on the way home speculating on coach on the way home, by how many Pool were going to beat us by that following weekend,  given they were in their hayday and had not lost at home for over 80 matches,  still a record I think.  You can probably guess the rest,  typical Leicester and why we carry on with the addiction.

Surprised this hasn’t been mentioned yet.

I didn’t have a ticket but as an athletic 16 year old I somehow managed to scale a wall into the ground and in amongst the home fans. A great day.

Don't you mean ...      "Oh Yeesss!   Oh yeesss for the youngster!"

One of the truly spine-tingling moments in our history.    And, as said before, absolutely superb commentary from Barry Davies.

Followed by "he'll remember that all his life".

Peterborough (A) 1-5 in 2018.

Great day out and we took a very good end.

I'm pretty much against modern football and love grounds with character, but that away end has been a massive upgrade on the terrace.

Well if we play them next year, the away fans will be in the London Road end ( opposite where we were) with rail standing.

QPR 0 v 2 Leicester - the Joe Waters game 'what a goal for the youngster!'

Great day and I was a spotty faced teenager in a parka. Went on my own. Ground was packed but managed to get in down one of the sides. Tiny terrace under a stand. We had an end behind a goal, and also others scattered around the ground. When we scored I was amazed by how many Leicester were around me and singing. The roof was so low it seemed like you’d hit your head on it if you jumped up! Happy days!
