tbh I don't think this polarisation of the fanbase will resolve itself and its only going to get worse with next season going to have some pretty significant flare ups imo, at the end of the day those who are still kp in and clap off the 'lads' every week will never change because if you won't change your mind after 3 relegations in 4 years and considerable mismanagement across the board you never will. At the end of the day I don't believe the flask brigade are true football people and as others have said I think its a routine and adjacent to the tigers so their never gonna contribute to a deafening atmosphere, their never gonna protest and their never gonna stop clapping and the opposing kp out side will only get increasingly angry verging on apathetic

Most of the King Power In brigade will be dead in 10 years. Might just have to wait it out until then

Maybe not. But to my mind two things at this club are important. 1. Bin off KP. 2. Foster a passionate, *younger* fanbase.

I would hope we all want a dramatic change in the atmosphere in the ground. With respect, our aging fanbase has shown it *will not* deliver this. I say this as an older fan myself who would like to enjoy games again before I pop my clogs!

So I'd just say this. We should try to be as empathetic to *younger* fans as well as older ones. Instead the KPFC types come across as bitter at best

They won't, they'll just blame COVID or the fact that we had to comply with PSR (just like every other club). Some of them will even point the finger at us anti-KP fans for 'making the atmosphere toxic' and 'not getting behind the lads when it mattered'. They are naturally obedient people who see anyone with more money and power than them and automatically think that they must bow down to them. It's the same mentality behind them clapping the players off the pitch no matter what too.

Ah yes, the PSR rules our board ignored two, or is it three times?

We just need to start winning matches. Anybody pretending the answer is anything else needs their head examining.

We're all football fans. We want to see our team winning. If we blitz next season (I am not in any way suggesting this is even slightly likely at this point, think of this as a thought experiment) there's no way we don't have everybody in the ground supporting the team.

We've become fractured by failure. Success is what will bring us back together. Not premier League winning success, but any success at this point!

We do seem to have an above average older fan base. Every other post you see in some places refers to 50+ years and back in the good old 60’s and 70’s. Whether these people did actually follow us then I don’t know but I don’t doubt they were around them in an ‘on the planet’ way.

Younger fan have either been blocked from accessing the games or driven away by the bitter behaviour you have described.

The original comment you referred to may not have been classy in the context but it’s a relevant point to the future of the fan base. Fast forward a number of years, even 10/20 years, the number could dwindle quite fast and not be getting replaced as we missed the boat. Our future could we well floundering about in L1/L2 with crowds of say, 10k….

Sure, a lot of those who have publicly backed themselves into a corner as KPFC til I die, rather than Leicester til I die, will make excuses til the bitter end, but I still think the majority will convince themselves they were on the right side of history. Especially once the full story of how irredeemably abysmal the financial and general mismanagement has been has become general knowledge.

The fix is pretty easy, it’s seems Top is incapable of it. Sack Rudkin, bring in a competent director of football with a more entertaining style that wins a larger % of games, hell even being ‘in’ games for 90mins would be a start.
