1. Common sense.

2. Major honours isn’t everything, it’s part of it..not even the majority. If you apply that logic then Bucharest and Red Star Belgrade are bigger clubs than Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio and Sporting Lisbon.
3. Fanbase.

4. Modern Era achievements and Reputation.
5. Facilities.

6. Brand recognition and Pedigree

7. Attendances

Football is a completely different sport to what it was pre mid 90s.

We're gonna keep going round in circles but, 1, 4, 5 and 6 are moot points imo because in another 10 years hat will be vapourised with us just as it has been for all the other clubs you've mentioned, but they'll still have a bigger trophy cabinet and similar if not bigger fan base than us. We're definitely in the top 20 biggest clubs in the country and should be in the prem but I really think youre overestimating us

I’d be intrigued to know your top 20 if we are in it yet WBA, Sunderland, Preston, Blackburn, Sheff Weds and Wolves are all above us?

Well obvsiously the 'big 6' and us. Wolves, bburn, sunderland, wba, Newcastle, sheff weds. Villa, everton, forest, Leeds, West ham. Then I think it's a bit much of a muchness and you can make arguments for quite a number of clubs. I'd probably go for sheff utd and then one of derby/palace/bolton

1. Man Utd

2. Liverpool

3. Arsenal

4. Chelsea

5. Man City

6. Aston Villa

7. Tottenham Hotspur

8. Everton

9.  Newcastle

10. Leeds

For me this is the top 10 quite clearly with the top 3 being head and shoulders above the rest.

Villa have leapfrogged Spurs with recent success.

Everton and Leeds still carry weight despite achieving f all in the modern era.

Newcastle are pretty much their on name and attendances alone.

11. West Ham United

12. Leicester City

13. Notts Forest

14. Sunderland

15. Wolves

After this point, for me, they all become incredibly similar:

16. Sheff Utd

17. Sheff Weds

18. Southampton

19. Middlesbrough

20. Ipswich Town.

Honourable mentions: Norwich, Blackburn, Derby, WBA, Bolton, Burnley, Portsmouth, Birmingham, Cov, Palace, Fulham and Stoke.

would assume policing and stewarding, think 6.5k is the max they'll do now days

Clubs pay for both of them and the income from ticket sales more than covers it

It's always interesting to see who ranks who where. Like we have agreed pretty much on all of them but i'd have Soton nowhere near the top 20, near enough all your honourable mentions have won more than them and they haven't got a huge fan base. Middlesbrough just missed out for me, but could have had them in my 'bottom 2' but they've only won a single league cup despite quite a lot of runners up. Ipswich is a good shout I completely overlooked them but could sneak in there. Like you say you can make arguments for a lot of them after a certain point. Enjoyed this debate even if we have derailed the thread hahaha

Yeah apologies admins😂

If anyone works at the club or knows someone involved in ticketing then please encourage them to do better.

Should be a lot more going to this and tickets sold a bit quicker, too.

well don't shoot the messenger, but us in 2022, Ipswich, derby and sheff wed were all only given 6.5k

We need a post from someone who couldn’t buy tickets to mk dons away because they were too constipated to remember their card details blaming the ticket office to get this thread back on track

But they haven’t had an allocation above 6500 post Covid. Plenty of decent support had games there including our own when the ground is half empty and they didn’t get allocations at 9000

Mate they're by far a bigger club than us, 15 years ago if you took away all their major trophies they'd only be 1 league cup behind us

So how does time spent in the lower leagues affect that status? We’ve had two seasons outside the top two divisions. Wolves have spent six including two years in the fourth tier!

Since 1980, they had 16 season in the top flight. (Out of a possible 46)

Of course it affects it, but 6 seasons is hardly being cut adrift in the wilderness really is it, and they even won an efl trophy in that time. They’ve won 3 top flights, 4 fa cups, 2 league cups and 4 comm shields. They’ve also finished runners up in the europa league. And their record attendance, record average attendance is bigger than ours. I honestly don’t see how you can make an argument for us being bigger but like I said last night it is an interesting debate

Just got a parking space at Asda next to the ground on JustPark for £11.19 for the day if anyone still needs parking.

Everytime someone says they’ve booked at asda and then I check it says sold out 🤷‍♂️ do they release a number of spaces daily?
