Does anyone actually care?

I had a season ticket for years but gave it up after our relegation from the Prem under Rodgers & Co. My logic was that I’d supported them through Pleat, Taylor, Holloway and then Pearson and Ranieri. It felt that I needed to get off the rollercoaster at that point and let other people deal with the highs and lows. 
 

The problem I have and this might sound a bit sad, but it can actually make me ill. I’ve not been able to engage too much after Maresca because it makes me so angry and drags my mood down to the point of depression. I can’t engage with it anymore for my own self preservation. 
 

I think what we all need is “hope”. That won’t come until Top sells the club to, hopefully, an owner up for a challenge. Until that point I can’t allow myself to care too much because the trajectory of the club is all too predictable and I have no control. If there was any positive action I could get involved with, that I thought would make a difference, I’d do it.
 

At the moment going down to the stadium and jumping up and down and shouting with anger  - or passively supporting the club in the stands - seem equally pointless. I wouldn’t criticise either approach because the supporters are not the problem

Ah, fan culture and the good ol' morale police. There are different ways to support. Not all will fight or jump the barricades. In fact, that's mostly a minority. I'm glad people have better things to do and can still enjoy themselves even when the club is crumbling and the team is in free fall. That's the culture worth keeping - the togetherness and common activity. If the club doesn't resonate with this, I would encourage people to find other enjoyable ways to share an activity together that doesn't cost a fortune to boot.

Ultimately, there are far more important things in life than to support a team of footballers.

Anyone paying attention was angry long ago and are past caring to the point they won't even entertain the shower we've become. 

 

Almost as though they care so much they can't bear to see us in this state. There's also a relationship between how much people care and the depth of their knowledge of our situation. The more you know, the more hopeless you're likely to feel when it comes to us.

 

Why get behind a lost cause?

 

So all you have left is the day trippers and placid folk with nothing else to do with their Saturday.

This woman gets a lot of stick but to be fair she's a better football manager than Russell Martin

I do care very much! It kills me. And that is exactly why i cancelled my season ticket. Because of happy clappers that don't seem to care and will talk down to you if you even dare to utter a bad word, boo or criticise the team or manager in any way! When I saw people clapping the players off after throwing away a 3 goal lead to Southampton i just wanted to punch them in face!

You can get them from the club shop, my little girl wanted one before you roast me for it.
