I thought we were in the bottom three?

:dunno: Not sure what your point is.

When we went from PL to EFL there was agreement between the two on who and how they could punish us.

I personally hope they find a loop hole, the PL are playing the victim in all of this but this happened under their noses for 9 years.

They only investigated it because of hacked emails, what the **** were the Premier League doing for those 9 years?

The whole media frenzy has been on Man City, but what about the PL and their unbelievable incompetence.

They're were enough warning signs from UEFA, but the PL were happy to turn a blind eye when Man City were helping build their brand.

I hold the PL complicit in all of this farce, they let this drag for 17 years, destroyed the integrity of their own competition.

Man City will be punished eventually but I hope they take the PL down with them.

Football needs a financial reset with fair economic rules for all clubs, not the current cartel.

Then that's down to the 14 allowing it happen and they are the ones that could resolve it.

I feel like I'm banging my head on a wall a bit here.

I'm genuinely baffled by how many Leicester fans are towing the Sky Sports party line on this.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea spend the same insane amount of money, the rules just let them do it because they helped write them, so they allow their ridiculous commercial revenue - which has nothing to do with footballing merit - offset their spending.

United have access to almost unlimited resources, they're playing with the money cheats on essentially, yet they're still absolutely shit because the football side of their business has been almost as bad as ours post-Vichai ever since Ferguson retired. Nobody there knows how to run a modern football club.

Man City haven't only been succesful because they broke the rules to spend a lot of money, they're succesful because they know HOW to spend that money.

It's possible to be angry that they cheated and broke rules that we tried to stick to and got relegated as a result whilst still admiring the fact they're an extremely smartly run footballing operation.

People need to learn to appreciate nuance, to hold multiple thoughts in their head that might be contrasting.

As Leicester fans we're totally justified being angry IF Man City get off with an incredibly light punishment when we've essentially been hounded all the way down to the bottom of League One by points deductions and spending restrictions whilst they just ignore the rules and won titles. Yes.

But fans of the other Big Six clubs being angry when Man City only just spent what they did? **** them. And **** anyone parroting their nonsense. The rules are unethical, protection racket nonsense and both us and Man City are ultimately victims of them.

The worst thing is that the rules allow Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal to keep up with Man City for as long as they like but if one of the "Other 14" tries and gets it slightly wrong then the club ends up in the Championship with all sorts of FFP/PSR sanctions as well as being labelled cheats.

I.e. "know your place and stay in your lane - we don't want too many Leicester Citys".

So why aren't or haven't the 14 done something about it.

Possibly due to possible consequences to themselves if they were brave enough to mention anything.

I think there are handful here who just don't want Man City punished, as they think it will be two fingers up to the Premier League and clubs like Man U, Liverpool etc, so no matter what we say, they aren't going to stray from that overriding belief.

Because those clubs act in their own self-interest and clubs are scared about losing what they have as opposed to pushing the elite to win trophies.

Much more interested in staying on the Premier League gravy train and pulling up the ladder beneath them. You watch in the FA Cup how many of those clubs take it seriously. It'll be minimal.

It's all shit for paying supporters. The magic of the game is lost to money.

And this has been going on in various guises for 40 years. Yet now we are all one group fighting the bad guys? No thanks.

I don’t think works. The PL are totally independent to the EFL.
So your theory is that a team who wins their play off final won’t be promoted? And this will happen for three seasons!!

Also, the red cartel plus Chelsea and Spurs wanted to leave the PL to join a European super league. Like they are dedicated to the PL.

The “6” never wanted to leave PL. their super league was to replace Champions League

Who knows but they're worried about the European break away league.

They all know that without Man U, Man C, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool the TV revenue will be  peanuts in comparison and their clubs will not have the same financial wealth.

I've no idea how Spurs have got grouped with the another 5, they done nothing in the PL era.

Yes but it's still going to affect the revenue of those 14 clubs if they can't qualify for the Super league and Sky decide to allocate more TV money to the Super league.

But, other teams can qualify for the revised Super League and no club would have a guaranteed spot regardless of performance. This is still their latest proposal, even though the overwhelming backlash has shelved it.

We knowingly broke the rules, they caught us and charged us. The only thing the Premier League got wrong, is the loophole we exploited due to our relegation, which they have now closed. Man City have also been found guilty of knowingly breaking the rules, so let's see if they manage to find a loophole for all 114 charges. I doubt they will though, as looks like their latest tactic is to say we were lying before in our previous submissions. I don't think that will wash at all.

Whether the rules are fair and who they are meant to help and hurt, is another debate, and shouldn't be used to excuse cheating, whether us or Man City.

We didn’t break any rules.

We exceeded the amount of “allowable losses” in 22/23 but that rule ceased to apply to us when we were relegated. The Premier League spent 2 years breaking their own rules to punish us for it before being told by their own independent commission we’d correctly followed the wording of the rules whereas we were being accused of breaking the ‘spirit’ of the rules.

We were then successfully deducted 6 points for breaching PSR in the Championship, under a rule which didn’t exist at the time we apparently broke it.

Neither charge would have existed had the Premier League deducted points from Everton in the correct season, which is their stated aim.

I understand the legal argument, and that relegation ultimately saved us from officially breaking the rules, but we were still knowingly breaking the rules whilst competing in the Premier League, before we knew we would be relegated.

Despite my feelings about PSR and how the Premier League and EFL hounded us, I still don't think what our club did was right by knowingly exceeding "allowable losses" when most other clubs in the Premier League didn't.
