Muz Posted 15 February 2006 Posted 15 February 2006 What an absoloute farce of a ''music'' event. Kaiser Chiefs = Absoloute Twats. What a state british music is in at the minute Only good thing to come out of it was Paul Wellers award

Nationwider Posted 15 February 2006 Posted 15 February 2006 International Breakthrough Act Jack Johnson International Male Solo Artist Kanye West British Breakthrough Artist Arctic Monkeys International Group Green Day British Female Artist KT Tunstall International Album Green Day American Idiot Outstanding Contribution Paul Weller I can respect the above awards, even if I don't 100% agree with them, or the point in music awards as a whole. I'd also like to say that I personally hate the music of James Blunt. He really annoys me and when I hear him sing, I want to chew my arm until it hurts.
Libertine Posted 15 February 2006 Posted 15 February 2006 What a joke. The nominations for Best Rock were: Kaiser Chiefs Kasabian Hard-Fi Oasis Franz Ferdinand How the hell are any of them rock? They're all indie rubbish, Oasis are hardly rock anymore.

Nationwider Posted 15 February 2006 Posted 15 February 2006 Didn't Sugababes win Best Dance Act at the Brits (or similar kiss-arse event) once? They were in the same category as Orbital and the Chemical Brothers, I think.
Libertine Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 Where's Foo Fighters? God knows. Green Day won best album even though American Idiot was released in 2004.... Foos weren't nominated for anything. Didn't Sugababes win Best Dance Act at the Brits (or similar kiss-arse event) once? They were in the same category as Orbital and the Chemical Brothers, I think. How very ridiculous.
Lemon Harpic Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 Didn't Sugababes win Best Dance Act at the Brits (or similar kiss-arse event) once? They were in the same category as Orbital and the Chemical Brothers, I think. Best Dancers?
Lemon Harpic Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 Foos weren't nominated for anything. Imo, everything the Foo Fighters have released in the past few years has been unlistenable rubbish.
Libertine Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 Imo, everything the Foo Fighters have released in the past few years has been unlistenable rubbish. One By One is pretty sh*te yes. In Your Honour is good though. Even so, they should still have been nominated, especially considering U2's How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb was up for best album!
Libertine Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 Is this on tele tomorrow night? Might have a quick glimpse of it just to see who is performing etc.
hairy Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 Where's Foo Fighters? The Foo Fighters are American. This was the Brits. They could have only won something under the international title and they weren't nominated in any of them.
1884 Posted 16 February 2006 Author Posted 16 February 2006 The Foo Fighters are American. This was the Brits. They could have only won something under the international title and they weren't nominated in any of them. That's what I'm on about
Head Honcho Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 What a joke. The nominations for Best Rock were: Kaiser Chiefs Kasabian Hard-Fi Oasis Franz Ferdinand How the hell are any of them rock? They're all indie rubbish, Oasis are hardly rock anymore. I think it's Rock as opposed to Pop!
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 Where's Foo Fighters? Being American I wouldn't of fancied their chances in the best British rock catogery.
1884 Posted 16 February 2006 Author Posted 16 February 2006 Being American I wouldn't of fancied their chances in the best British rock catogery. I was talking in general. They should of been up for International Band
Teeno Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 What a joke. Can't stand Jumes Blunt, Kt Tunstall, kasier chiefs etc well infact all the artist that won anything. Is it me or is it all aimed at 7 year old girls?
Matt Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 What a joke. Can't stand Jumes Blunt, Kt Tunstall, kasier chiefs etc well infact all the artist that won anything. Is it me or is it all aimed at 7 year old girls? KT Tunstall - Good Kaiser Cheifs - Good Coldplay - Good No I disagree with your comment about being aimed at 7 year old girls...If McFly or X Factor people and all that shit we're winning awards i'd agree but they ain't I ain't really a fan of James Blunt but as they said music is all about opinion like verything else and if everyone had the same opinion what would be the point? You like your dance music, I like it to some extent but some of the songs you have listed recently IMO are shit, exactly like you think KT Tunstall, Kaiser Cheifs, e.t.c are shit no doubt.

Have to agree with you thought it was quite good show Enjoyed all the acts, kanye west's was a bit extravagent (did i get that right? )
City Fan Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 I do like the Kaisers, but they should never have picked up the awards they did. I think Kaisers should have won the Breakthrough award though, instead of the Arsehole Monkeys. Coldplay deserved best band even though the Kaisers got it, but Im glad Coldplay won best album, and best single, because Speed of Sound has to be the best song in the world bar none!
Libertine Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 Have to agree with you thought it was quite good show Enjoyed all the acts, kanye west's was a bit extravagant (did i get that right? )
filbertway Posted 16 February 2006 Posted 16 February 2006 Where are coldplay going then ? We won't be seeing them for a long long time.
