Defensive loan signing

Interesting.

We do have Maybury, who could fill in at RB allowing Stearman to push into the CB position if needed - that is his supposed natural position.

I guess that leaves us a little shorter in the midfield, so we'd have to play Sylla (which most people don't want.)

Never keen on bringing in a quick fix unless theres no other way. But at this time of the season most of the players who could do a job are wanted by there club, especially clubs that are doing well. So that would leave us with players who might not be good enough, or up to standed. Kelly has done a good job with what we have , so it will be interesting to see who he gets hold of, if anyone. :ermm:

I'd have thought there were plenty of decent enough players stewing in a premiership team's reserves.

Maybe Arse have someone else we can borrow for a month, or Manure - both clubs have large-ish reserve teams we could pinch players from for a short period.

Trouble is at what cost to us, Prem players don't come cheap. If we can get by, i would rather save every bit of cash we have for next season. Its probably money the reason Dublin and deep-freeze went , to save on wages they were getting

I see it in a more simple way, keep everything as it is, and just slot the Paddy G in at centre back.

He looked decent to me when he has played.

Exactly! Even with another injury or suspension there is cover.

For example if Nissa gets banned or suspended then Tiatto can play at left back or Maybury and Smith could then play on the wing. Stearman can play anywhere across the back four and Gerrbrand played left back and right back whilst at Hammarby on occasions.

I would have thought we're in need of either a winger or a central midfielder more than a centre half.

Dublin went because he sniffed out a bigger paycheck north of the border.

De Vries, I'm not sure about. Frankly, in the league he's been a bit cack, and Kelly clearly thinks Hume/Fryatt is the only strike partnership to even consider, so you might as well send MDV packing if he's not going to get a game.

I don't think he'll want to move Stearman and as for Tiatto, although he played well enough on Saturday, he was still the same old Tiatto fouling people when he didn't need to, committing at least one tackle which should have got him booked.

He'll always be a risk at left-back because of the free-kicks he'd give away and Leicester's defence is most effective when it stiffles attacks almost at source rather than coping with free-kicks into the box from dangerous places.

Kisnorbo and either Nils or Gerrbrand would be fine as the central defenders and Tiatto might serve in left midfield but that still leaves us needing a left-back with Sheehan having a groin injury.

A choice from Maybury, Joey, Hughes, Williams and Tiatto in midfield should be sufficient in that department, indeed the team seems to be functioning better without a specialist right winger because it makes for one less weakness to my mind.

Indeed this has probably been one of the key reasons for our success. We also have a strike force now and people like Kisnorbo and Hughes have become assets instead of liabilities. It all makes a big difference.

So altogether we need two signings...a left-back and a right winger to really cover ourselves and to give us options.

RK mentioned on the Moan in last night that PAddy G is chomping at the bit for a first team return!

Good! I really rate the lad, when he played about5 or 6 games on the bounce back in October/November time I really thought he looked a class act. Infact on here there were alot of people who thought he was WORLD CLASS

What a great dilemma to have for Kelly, but I really think we'll miss McCarthy - out of the 3 Paddys he is the only real attacker of the ball we have at the back - and as for kisnorbo and gerbrand, it'll always be one of them with McCarthy.

The way thing's are going at the moment KISNORBO would be my first name on the team sheet.(jesus never thought i would be saying that  )

Agreed, we lack height and a real ball winner in the air without McCarthy. Paddy G is more stylish, and plays off a defender like McCarthy"""

Kisnorbo missed training yesterday, hope he is fit for the weekend!

"He added: "Patrick Kisnorbo missed training today with a sore knee, while Momo is still carrying a back injury. We will take a another look at them on Tuesday morning."

It would be interesting to see Richard Stearman in midfield, like where Maybury is playing at the moment, I think he could aspire to become a great midfield player. But then again, Maybury is doing a great job at the minute on the right hand side of midfield, I must say.

I think they should try and get Jay McEevely (spelling) or Gresko from Blackburn to cover the left back position. That would then allow Nissa to play at centre half if needed with suspension and possible injury problems in the next 2 games.

Largely depends on who RK is looking at...

He has no experience in the transfer marker apart from what he has seen of Levein. (Which to be honest was overall all pretty good)

Can we trust him to bring in someone who will slot straight in? The board must trust him as it wont come cheap!

Aint Gresko gone to Parma.

It didn't say so on Blackburn's OS when I last looked? He came from Parma, I know that.

I herd someone say he'd gone back there but I just checked and he hasn't.

He has got Cruciate knee ligament damage though. So prolly not the best signing
