filbertway Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Came on here after the first 3 matches he had played...you lot were raving about him !! But nothing since... Seems to have dropped off a bit lately and hasn't really been playing.
Head Honcho Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Came on here after the first 3 matches he had played...you lot were raving about him !! But nothing since... You probably hit the nail on the head when you said "but nothing since" He looks impressive but there ain't no end product! ............and he didn't endear himself to the Leicester City fans by throwing a wobbly after the Brighton game
Soho_Fox Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Came on here after the first 3 matches he had played...you lot were raving about him !! But nothing since... Big time charlie show pony. No use to us in a relegation scrap. Please take him back.
lcfcking Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 You probably hit the nail on the head when you said "but nothing since" He looks impressive but there ain't no end product! ............and he didn't endear himself to the Leicester City fans by throwing a wobbly after the Brighton game He has apparantly been ill over the last 3 weeks and he went on against Brighton, but was too ill to continue so maybe Welsh's signing was for cover to Smith or for them both to play (Smith Right-wing is an option.)
Thracian Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 We've just had a tip that he's returned to Arsenal. Totally unconfirmed website rumour at this moment but the same poster who broke another good story to us recently and has a 100% record of accuracy so far.
Leicester City Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Now with us signing this new guy (can't remember his name! sorry mate) i wouldn't be surprised if we don't see much more of him. I really like Ryan Smith and i don't think we use him correctly. We need to give him the ball for a start. Big player for the future but he still seems very young, very inexperienced.

Ryan is an exciting player and an undoubted talent for the future, much in the Shaun Wright-Philips mould. He's a little bit lightweight though, and has struggled of in the heat of Championship survival. He ends up losing the ball far too easily and his runs often end in frustration. I would to see us keep him. He has real promise, and to be fair to the lad he hasn't had the best service in the world throughout the season. At least he can take a half decent corner! With a little more strength and presence of mind he could be very good indeed.
teblin Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Good footballer, but needs to learn to make the right decisions! beats the man then tries to beat him again, when he should put a cross in. No doubt he is talented, will be better when he stop trying to play like franz carr

We seem odd considering Tiatto is out for a while after an operation!!!!!!
Thracian Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 We seem odd considering Tiatto is out for a while after an operation!!!!!! Generally I ignore rumour apart from putting them in the collective box as exactly what they are. However, this lad's got three out of three up to now and led the way with two. I've said twice in the story that it's unconfirmed. I've emailed Leicester and am awaiting a reply and I've since had a further, confidential tip, that is a "possibility" so he'd rather not go public. Call me wrong by all means. It wouldn't be the first time for any of us.
Jay Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 great talent/bad attitude as far as I am concerned after stamping on his shirt and behaving like a child at Brighton it was Ryan Smith!! we don't need players with that sort of attitude we need everyone to be in this together and to fight for each other and not themselves!!! as for Ryan Smith the player, he has good pace great skills but his end product is terrible and always fails to produce the killer ball after beating his man but he is still young and can improve on that.
Vo Rogue Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 At first we all thought he was a genius, but became all to predictable by any reasonable Championship defence. If he did beat the first player he surely ran into problems with the second and all to often had the ball taken off him. Then the poor attitude followed. Taxi for Ryan.

I've no idea how old you are but did you never have a fit of petulance as a teenager? I've brought up three teenagers and if I fell out with them every time they said something or did something they didn't mean when they'd calmed down I wouldn't have much of a family left. Of course he shouldn't have done it but then disappointment prompts all sorts of irrational or impulsive reaction.

I understand where you are coming from teenagers often behave like that, I think he is a great talent BUT the majority of young players we have all have a spot on attitude we need to be in this together and anyone who doesn't really want to be here or fight for the shirt and the club is probably better off away from here, expecially if they are only on loan obviously I don't know the full story but Rob Kelly sees him on a daily basis and if he thinks this is the correct decision then I have to support that. With Ryan Smith I just getting the feeling he thinks he is a better player than he actually is at the the minute however if this is not true and he pulls on the blue shirt again I will give him my 100% backing

He just worries me sometimes when he talks about "right sort" and "right attitude" because I feel he might miss out on some damned good players for the sake of not taking the trouble to cope with their temperament.
Nationwider Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Agree, now if they're are still doing it when they're 25 then you've got a problem ...or when they're 39, like Dennis Wise. <_<
Steven Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Agree, now if they're are still doing it when they're 25 then you've got a problem Exactly.
Jamesino_LCFC Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 I think Ryan has got his spirit back and is playing well again, but he isnt being picked by Kelly. Probably because he is only 19 and still a kid, and shouldnt really be playing week in week out for us.. he's still a genius though!
Vo Rogue Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 I don't think he's got the spirit back. What we need and he needs are two different things. We need desperately survival in this League, whereas he will be back in London in May.
AyewJoking Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 He is a very good player. Now we have a cushion over the relegation zone, why not play him more often?
