cisono Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 I feel disappointed... doesn't sound as if Reading deserved the goal...
Wycombe Fox Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Bit of a cock up here but Blackburn are having a bad season! http://www.sportinglife.com/football/live/...remiership.html You'll have to be quick though before it gets corrected!

Too late! The Prem table was briefly showing Blackburn bottom with no points, no wins and no goals scored from 31 games!
lookwhaticando Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Too late! The Prem table was briefly showing Blackburn bottom with no points, no wins and no goals scored from 31 games! Even SUNDERLAND have done better than that. (Only just, tho )
Libertine Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Great point, just a bit annoying how it happened. I'm not too disappointed though, I'm happy for Reading.
City_4_Life Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Great point, just a bit annoying how it happened. I'm not too disappointed though, I'm happy for Reading. Same here. They have done a brilliant job, lets hope Leicester can do something the same next season.

Ricey Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 I'm very proud of the team today, we so nearly beat the team that has run away with the league this season. A little disapointed not to of won but still pleased
MC Prussian Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Honestly, 1-1 against the winner of this year's Championship campaign is a pretty decent result. It represents our current form and is only fair to Reading, we just couldn't keep it up for the entire 90+ minutes. I'm happy for us and for Reading. Hope they'll do us some proud in the Prem. Coventry lost, Wolves lost...
securedfox Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Thank God for RK, for kicking us back to life and climbing us up the league, and how the players have responded to it all. Just let it continue. We have our up's and downs. but it's great to be a City fan at the moment The change is nothing short of remarkable...C.MON YOU FOXES.
Benji Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Keep these players next season with maybe one or two more lads (joey replaced with wesolowski) and we'll go up next season, i really cant see how we wouldn't from todays performance, was brilliant. Got to say well done to Reading, they got lucky with the goal we should have had a free kick for an elbow/arm on joey i think just before but whats happens happens. They had nothing all game, that's why they're top! Welsh looked lively, we should give him a chance now i think.
Guest Gist Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Great game I thought it was very entertaining we made a good side look average today well done lads!
LCFC UK Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Would of won that if he hadnt of taken fryatt and hume off. May have been reasons but you dont take your two best players off. Sat back and what do you know, concede. Dont get me wrong 1-1 not a bad result, but we were running away with the game and should of beat them at least 2-0.
willy37 Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 excellent performance today. although a few teams below us won, i know derby, milwall and crewe off the top of my head. we have 3 games in a week starting with the norwich game, all difficult games aswell
Benji Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 I agree about fryatt coming off, but Hume was knackered mate, the boy was bright red and didn't look like he could move much more let alone run. I would have preferred O'Grady on for Hume and stuck with O'grady and Fryatt, but end of the day if Reading had scored we'd have said 'oh why didn't he bring on a defender for fryatt?' He's made the decision as a manager (you can tell i was thinking about this at the game ) and so got to stick by it.
Muz Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Today just shows how far we have come in such a short time. We outplayed Reading in the first half and made them look 2nd fiddle. Hume and Fryatt are absoloute dynamite together up front , If we can keep them over the summer and replace Joey , who knows...
LCFC UK Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 I agree about fryatt coming off, but Hume was knackered mate, the boy was bright red and didn't look like he could move much more let alone run. Yeah true, he just played amazing and was a shame to see him go off

As others have said, Fryatt and Hume up front were/are lethal. They dominated the Reading defenders and caused no end of problems. I would've liked to see Hume come off first (rather than Fryatt) and I didn't want Fryatt to come off at all. But Hume looked shattered and Fryatt has had injury problems recently so I can understand Kelly's decision. I think you're being a bit harsh on Kelly, but we did lose the impetus once Hume and Fryatt went off, but still we can't complain with a draw against Reading. 1 point is still a great result considering our form of late, we would've got whooped under Levein.

And to top it off, we'd be playing 4-5-1, MDV as the lone striker, defenders hoofing it up to him, and a total of no attacking options on the bench - just 5 defenders so that, if by some miracle MDV scores, we can pack the defense to hang on to win, or simply hope for 0-0. No way am I cynical.
davieG Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Even with Fyatt & Hume off we were still creating chances in the last 10 minutes and could still easily have pulled it off, O'Grady must have been off-side by a whisker if at all.
Steven Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Hogshead is a nice pub with nice beer I have just got back and what a top tip this was. I met Scowy, Luke, Cobbo, Katy and Lisa. Firstly Katy is NOT like whatever, Cobbo does not have a Public School accent and Lisa is a babe. Happy Birthday for tomorrow. They were lucky as we cannot defend corners and when we played football we ripped them to shreds. RK less, hoof and more football please. In this order, Stearman was shite, Gudjonssen was less so and Maybury was the least offender, other wise the rest were good.
Thracian Posted 26 March 2006 Posted 26 March 2006 Did anyone read the Sunday Express today... They had two Reading players combining to score our goal... "It came as little surprise when Dave Kitson and Kevin Doyle combined to give Rob Kelly's side a deserved lead in 38 minutes"!!! And I thought we hadn't made any sneaky loan signings Bocadillo won't sleep if he reads that

I'm going to have to go back to the shop to buy a Sunday Express so that I can write a letter of complaint!
