Yaxx Posted 26 March 2006 Posted 26 March 2006 'We're in it together!' Heaven help us, what berk came up with that one??? Even 'The Birch' was taking the piss out of it while the players were still warming up on the pitch! The flag was a great idea (though only if the crowd is big enough to do it justice - the Walkers isn't the bloody Bernabau), but surely the powers that be could have at least had the savvy to make it 'We all stand together'? You can just see the headlines/abuse now if we lose......
Phube Posted 26 March 2006 Posted 26 March 2006 'We're in it together!' but surely the powers that be could have at least had the savvy to make it 'We all stand together'? Bom, bom-bom, i-e-i. Bom, bom-bom, i-e-i, WE all stand together!!! Hey and you've come up with a new pre-match song... Good old Paul McCartney!!!

As usual the PR twits have taken a throw away quote from Rob Kelly, and are trying to turn it into the next "keep the faith", "foxes never quit" campaign.

Babylon Posted 26 March 2006 Posted 26 March 2006 We're in what together? Well it was "this shit" when Kelly took over.

Vo Rogue Posted 26 March 2006 Posted 26 March 2006 Well it was "this shit" when Kelly took over. Exactly. Thats the first thing I think of when I see that phrase. we were in that in a certain period of our history up to the end of January 2006. May we never go there again. 'We all stand together' a much better catch phrase for me.
Thracian Posted 26 March 2006 Posted 26 March 2006 Don't they actually bounce these ideas around first before they are implimented and if so there are two explanations for the appearance of the flag as it is: a) That whoever is responsible has shown a ridiculous lack of good judgement that will leave the club open to endless ridicule or b) There are so many yes men around that no-one had the bottle to put their warning out strongly enough and, if they did, they were ignored. The sooner the flag is remade with a different rallying call the better. Does anyone know who's idea it was?
Louise Posted 26 March 2006 Posted 26 March 2006 I have a feeling we're in for a season of this slogan, it seems to be being used with the ST advertisements and I wouldn't be surprised if we have it on the new ST books, and have the Merc making banners with it on for the first home game of next season...

Well whoever's responsible should be "all in it together" although they'll be heroes if the flag so focuses attention and the players are so keen to avoid ridicule that they don't lose at all next season. If Tim Davies gets that down on a contract I''m sure it would be "just another job" for Rob Kelly

If Tim Davies gets that down on a contract I''m sure it would be "just another job" for Rob Kelly 2 key questions I'd like answered... 1) How long until we get a We're in it together Fox posting on these boards? 2) Is our new team anthem going to be We're in this together by Simply Red? Bon Jovi was bad enough but this would be beyond a joke!

One of my site posters has just suggested that with 20,000 fans all in it together the **** will be flying all over the place and we should consider getting sponsorship from Severn Trent (Sewerage section)
Vo Rogue Posted 26 March 2006 Posted 26 March 2006 Could touch it up with that photo of Bernie that was floating around on a site, standing on a pile of horse shit outside a pub on an away trip. He really was in it.

There were Car Stickers being given out before the match yesterday by the radio people (Leicester Sound I think ) with the slogan on.

We're In It Together Posted 27 March 2006 Posted 27 March 2006 Welcome and what took you so long! I decided to have a Chandler-esque alter ego
