LCFC UK Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 A big massive Although it was bound to hit, its kinda hard to beleave and what the outcome of this will be. It has not been 100% confirmed but no dougbt it will be later today.
Scarby Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 again no point worring about it when we cant do anhthing about it at the moment
Katy Posted 6 April 2006 Author Posted 6 April 2006 again no point worring about it when we cant do anhthing about it at the moment No point indeed Scarbs, I notice the media are whipping it up into a frenzy as they do. Whats the point of scaring people half to death with talk of mass graves etc. What we need at the moment is hard honest facts not hype.
Head Honcho Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 Another deadly virus caused by our need to eat animals! Birds in the wild have this virus in their intestines all the time but rarely die of the disease, but It is our need to cage birds in awful conditions for human consumption which has brought us to this point! Oh well! I suppose you reap what you sow.

Katy Posted 6 April 2006 Author Posted 6 April 2006 I dont eat meat but we are natually designed to eat meat although we can live without it, I dont think humans deserve to die from this hideous disease just for the natural desire to eat meat. It has just been officially confirmed that the dead swan had the deadly strain. We watch and wait
Head Honcho Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 I would rather risk dying and eat meat than not eat meat and have a hugher chance of living. My personal opinion. I have no problems with people eating meat I only recently stopped myself, it is the awful conditions our livestock have to live in that concerns me
Ric Flair Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 I have no problems with people eating meat I only recently stopped myself, it is the awful conditions our livestock have to live in that concerns me I totally agree with you.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 A big massive Well I hope I dont get it I've got Micky Mouse lungs. Ill be drowning in me own fluids in minutes.
davieG Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 I have no problems with people eating meat I only recently stopped myself, it is the awful conditions our livestock have to live in that concerns me Although I agree with you I don't beleive that applies to the livestock in the countries where this virus 'originated' so I'm not sure you can blame it on that, it certainly not the reason for it spreading, quite the opposite in fact.
Dr The Singh Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 Although I agree with you I don't beleive that applies to the livestock in the countries where this virus 'originated' so I'm not sure you can blame it on that, it certainly not the reason for it spreading, quite the opposite in fact. I foriegn countries, in particular 3rd world, livestock or produced under 'Intensive' farming conditions, under such conditions dead livestock are kept with live which then leads to alot of diseases appearing but the spread os the virus has been mainly from wild birds!! Just to add, i tend not to eat meat from restuarants etc as the meat is most likely from brazil\poland\thailand etc, where the quality is poor and produced under horrific conditions, I don't eat halal as i think it's very cruel in the way in which the meat is sacrificed. I do try and eat organic\free range but it's very expensive!!

Head Honcho Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 sanctimonious mean anything? If you'd have read all my posts you will have seen that I don't have a problem with people eating meat. I do however have a problem with modern farming methods. Birds have always had avian flu, the virus lives in their intestines and they very rarely die of it, but this strain of the virus is totally due to birds being cooped up in awful conditions with no regard whatsoever for their health and in turn the virus has reached the wild birds, hence the spread of the disease

Cobbo Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 Ah well, I won't go onto say how Influenza caused by bird flu killed more people than the first world war in 1918 Don't let the media scare you.
Nationwider Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 I've been eating swan for years now, and will continue to do so with confidence.
Cobbo Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 I've been eating swan for years now, and will continue to do so with confidence. That's the way buddy, stick one over on the queen and her apparent animals!
Head Honcho Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 Allen, why if its down to modern farming methods, which are few and far between in south asia, how come a swan has it and all the other migrating birds? I don't get what you mean! There are poultry farms the size of small countries in South East Asia and they are a breeding ground for disease and this particular flu strain has spread to the local wild bird population who eventually migrate! Sorry Hairy by modern I meant mass market production I get what you mean now
Guest Posted 6 April 2006 Posted 6 April 2006 Who cares? If the human form reaches these Isles, just hope there's a space in those mass graves for me, 'cos I'll be fecked.
Katy Posted 6 April 2006 Author Posted 6 April 2006 On the streets of London? And also Birmingham.......
