Just what we needed...

...a great performance, a clean sheet, 3 goals and most importantly a home win!

Delighted with the performance today, I haven't really seen that since last time we were in this division. We played with high tempo and a lot of energy which is what we need, we didn't create alot of chances but when we did we looked dangerous.

I thought Gillespie played well tonight, ok he miscontolled it now and again or made a bad pass but alot of attacks were created by him and he looked lively. We need a proper winger down the right and he is one.

Lilian Nalis was superb tonight, he was all over the place and his passing was spot on. Tiatto was his usual good self aswelll.

Overally I'm so confident about the future and delighted we are showing signs of improving greatly.

Spot on.

It was at times unbelievable how well we played- some of our football was superb. We kept the ball well, passed and moved well, and looked very good going forward. Plus we didn't give Cov any time on the ball and we kept pressing them, and we never sat back despite our lead.

Nalis was a star tonight - I can't remember him giving the ball away once all game. His passing was magnificent at times and his goal capped a wonderful performance. He deserves accolades the way he has been playing recently, and he's now the top goalscorer too!

Overall I was delighted with the performance - I haven't felt this happy after a game for a very long time! All hail Craig Levein!

Straight from the kick off. ;) His only misplaced pass all evening. Thought he and Tiatto were excellent. ;)

Its great to see the midfield joining in for once. How long has it been since we last played through midfield? I just hope we can keep it up. Was great seeing us run forward whenever Tiatto, Nalis, Joey, Stewart, even Gillespie get the ball, and passed it forward. I hope it wasnt just a one off and we change v Sunderland :(

I was still in my turnstile at the time so I missed that!

Gillespie was poor generally, but he did try hard. He's supposed to be a winger, but how many times did he get a cross in? Even Scowcroft crosses more from the right wing than Gillespie does. He get's the ball, and then doesn't do anything with it.

Maybe it's a confidence thing.....

Nalis was superb IMO - Seemed to be everywhere, winning challenges, initiating attacks from a deep position. Nice goal too. ;)

Tiatto played well, although I still think he get's caught out defensively from time to time.

Overall, a solid performance, nothing spectacular. Nice to be able to come away with 3 goals and a clean sheet. I thought Coventry were dire to be honest though, no wonder they want Reid out.

No disrespect Scowy but I thought Gillespie was very good tonight. He had a purpose and looked like he belonged in the team. I was very impressed with his attitude and I think he now feels appreciated...nowhere near your description...poor!?!?! Pfft

He was poor - How many crosses did he get in? That's what he's supposed to do, get service in to the box. I said he tried hard, was committed, but didn't really contribute much from an attacking sense.

He was not poor just average. The good thing was that his head never went down and was engaged for the whole time he was on the pitch. ;) He will get better as he gets fitter. ;)

I think he was average too.

As Scowy said, he's supposed to be a winger but he didn't put in a cross from open play at all.

Having said this, he played a lot better than what I've seen of him. Could be a great asset to the side if he can just beat the full back and get some crosses in!

Nalis was class :D I missed the first 5 mins too though so didn't see his misplaced pass :P Silly busses.

Gillepsie doesnt seem to like to take on his man and beat him to the byline, which is what wingers do. The first time he tried it he got fouled and i dont think i remember him trying ti again after that.

I think Gillespie was terribly bad last night, he didnt get any crosses in hardly at all.

His job his to cross and he didnt do it, if Pressman didnt do his job and save it every shot you'd be moaning.

He tried a few times, but the ball generally just went out for a throw-in.

He tried hard, but didn't get as many crosses as he should have done into the box.

It's only his second start since January, he's trying, and almost getting there :)

Gillespie's attitude was excellent last night as was his constant running and battling. He even won headers and tackles. He didn't put many crosses in and that's where he needs to improve but to say he was poor and Scowcorft wasn't is beyond me. Scowcroft was absent for almost the whole game. He was snuffed out by Coventry and that's saying something. It was an unusually quiet game for him andd i'm sure he'll be back to his best on saturday but Scowcroft was shocking last night it was a typical Dublin display.

Most of Gillespies crosses were blocked for a throw or a corner whicj is better than passing it back llike Scowcroft did or losing it. I do remember a great cross by Gillespie in the first half with his left foot.
