Ricey Posted 18 June 2006 Posted 18 June 2006 If Hargreaves plays I'll support him just as much as any other player.
SystonFox Posted 18 June 2006 Posted 18 June 2006 me too Ricey, but i wont enjoy it. Gerrard is by far and away the best midfielder in the team.
Benji Posted 18 June 2006 Posted 18 June 2006 I hope hargreaves plays and in his proper position. Give him an ''ultimatum'' game in that he has no excuses, a good team around him, playing in his proper position, no pressure in terms of a result as we're already through (although obviously play to win and make a point of himself).

I am sad to say though that Erikksson isn't that sort of manager he is not the sort of manager to give a player that sort of motivation or encouragement to do well which has been part of problem since he took over
breadandcheese Posted 18 June 2006 Posted 18 June 2006 In all honesty, I have not seen much of Hargreaves, only those less than average performances where he has had to come off the bench or been played at right-back, right-mid, etc. He is possibly the nearest thing we have in the squad to a tackling holding midfielder (well done Sven, tactical genius), so think he is worth a try. Carrick, in my opinion isn't a strong enough tackler and Carragher (the other option) is needed at righ back with Neville's slight knock.
Tomassi Posted 18 June 2006 Posted 18 June 2006 Hopefully with Hargreaves in his rightful position and a quality team around him (lets face it Jenas isnt lampard or gerrard) he will perform like he does exceptionally for bayern munich. i have seen him play some games for bayern and he has been there best player every time!!! This is possibly his last chance to show what he can do in the red and white shirt and i really hope he takes it!
Stevosevic Posted 18 June 2006 Posted 18 June 2006 Hargreaves is one of Bayern's best players and is very highly rated. He has won a european cup, Lampard hasnt, he has won countless domestic trophies as well. I am not saying he is better than Lampard however he must be a decent player and needs us all to give him a chance. Lets be honest, how much have we seem of him? and in 2002 he was looking like one of our best players until he got injured.
Monk Posted 18 June 2006 Posted 18 June 2006 I'd have Lennon and push Beckham inside, but I won't moan too much if Hargreaves plays as Lamps will still be pushing forward.
Head Honcho Posted 18 June 2006 Posted 18 June 2006 Carrick for Lamps and Owen and Rooney up front other then that as before
Cobbo Posted 18 June 2006 Posted 18 June 2006 Hargreaves will play, they were lining up with him in training. I want to be proved wrong! Good luck to him if he does play I really want him to prove his critics (me included) wrong.
