Tommeh Posted 21 June 2006 Posted 21 June 2006 Becks at RB----I agree that it is a way to include him and Lennon and like it or not he has to play he is the captain of our country. He is our main threat and is still the best dead ball player in the world. But the main critisism of Carragher and the reason i wouldn't play him is due to lack of pace, are you saying Beckham has pace?
dandannieldanok Posted 21 June 2006 Posted 21 June 2006 my team would be: ----------------------------Robinson------------------------------ ---Neville (if fit)---Ferdinand (if fit)---Terry-------------A Cole ---------------------------Beckham------------------------------- ---Gerrard/Lampard-----Gerrard/Lampard--------------J Cole -------------------------Rooney----------------------------------- -------------------------------Crouch----------------------------- I would only play beckham in defensive midfield against a lesser side like Ecuador because he can't tackle
Tomassi Posted 21 June 2006 Posted 21 June 2006 Robinson Carragher Terry Ferdinand Cole.A Beckham Lampard Hargreaves Gerrard Cole.J Rooney Hargreaves the anchorman, lampard sitting in front of him and Gerrard the attacking midfielder if this doesnt work after an hour then take lampard off for crouch to revert to 4-4-2
The People's Hero Posted 21 June 2006 Posted 21 June 2006 I reckon Fezzler should play in the problem right back spot.
Knighton Matt Posted 21 June 2006 Posted 21 June 2006 I reckon Fezzler should play in the problem right back spot. Turkey Fezzler is surely Turkish or is it in a dubious way like our good friend Muzzy Izzet?
The People's Hero Posted 21 June 2006 Posted 21 June 2006 I'll tell you what he's not - Ecuadorean. And that's all that counts.
Benji Posted 21 June 2006 Posted 21 June 2006   You've got to love the sudden influx of Hargreaves fans I wonder how many only in the other thread were lamblasting him Fickle English? never!!
Knighton Matt Posted 21 June 2006 Posted 21 June 2006 I'll tell you what he's not - Ecuadorean. And that's all that counts. I reckon he's Labrador. With an opposable thumb naturally which explains his posting orgies on here.
Bert Posted 21 June 2006 Posted 21 June 2006 Robbo Becks Rio (Carra if unfit) JT A.Cole Hargreaves (Man marking Delgado) Lennon Gerrard Lampard J.Cole Rooney Is this the same Delgado that done virtually nothing for Southampton?
The People's Hero Posted 21 June 2006 Posted 21 June 2006 Is this the same Delgado that done virtually nothing for Southampton? That's the badger. Few ex Southampton strikers possibly involved in the game. Him, Crouch and Walcott.
Daggers Posted 21 June 2006 Posted 21 June 2006 i stank of fish the next morning Oh yes, I know that feeling VERY well. Damn those North Sea trawlermen popping around to see my wife all the time...
Ultra Posted 22 June 2006 Author Posted 22 June 2006 Becks at RB----I agree that it is a way to include him and Lennon and like it or not he has to play he is the captain of our country. He is our main threat and is still the best dead ball player in the world. I'm not convinced he's even the best dead ball player in our squad. He certainly isn't the best captain. And Joe Cole, Rooney and Gerrard will scare opposing defenders more than he does.
Bert Posted 22 June 2006 Posted 22 June 2006 I'm not convinced he's even the best dead ball player in our squad. He certainly isn't the best captain. And Joe Cole, Rooney and Gerrard will scare opposing defenders more than he does. John Terry gets my vote.
Monk Posted 22 June 2006 Posted 22 June 2006 John Terry gets my vote. Yes but Svens not going to change the captain half way through the tourney is he? Bottom line is Lennon & Walcott = Pace = Movement = Goals. Beckham = Can't beat players = HOOOF
Daggers Posted 22 June 2006 Posted 22 June 2006 That's the badger. That's who we need - The Badger! She'd show those silly boys how to organise themselves ... and make a profit from the trip to Germany into the bargain. BAD-GER! BAD-GER! BAD-GER! BAD-GER! ...

dandannieldanok Posted 23 June 2006 Posted 23 June 2006 I know I have already posted my team but I have had a brainwave ---------------------------------Robinson--------------------------------- --------------Carragher---------Terry--------Ferdinand---------------- -------------------------------Hargreaves-------------------------------- ---Beckham-----------------------------------------------------J Cole--- ---------------------Gerrard------------------Lampard------------------- -------------------------Rooney-------------Crouch---------------------- I believe the 3-5-2 gives us the necessary protection for the defence with a confident looking hargreaves and it also allows Carragher to play in his preferred position. Also it gives Lampard and Gerrard license to get forward. I believe this formation would get England a comfortable win.
breadandcheese Posted 24 June 2006 Posted 24 June 2006 I don't think Beckham or Joe Cole would work as wingbacks. Beckham doesn't have the pace, stamina, tackling or heading ability to play the position. Joe Cole always cuts in from the flank and equally is not suited to a wingback role.
davieG Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 Looks like it's going to be a 4-1-4-1 / 4-5-1 --------------------------------Robinson--------------------------------- Hargreaves---------Terry-------------Ferdinand-------------Cole -----------------------------------Carrick-------------------------------- ---Beckham-----------------------------------------------------J Cole--- ---------------------Gerrard------------------Lampard------------------- -----------------------------------Rooney-------------------------------------
