Northants Fox Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Fair enough go up to him, have an arguement with him back but is there any need to act like a bull charging? No excuse for what Zidane did. I have no problem with people squaring up but actually headbutting You off! WOOHOO....France miss peno! I agree on the Sending off you don't Headbutt an opponent no matter what he may have said to you Italy Win 5-3 on Pens WOOOO
cisono Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Might as well kick it off now! C'mon France, teach those filthy swine how to win a game. Vive la France! Haha
Northants Fox Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Haha Haha indeed Happy enough that the Italians won, would have prefered the win in 90 Mins mind as i had them for a win in the Predition League
Benji Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Wasn't too bothered who won tonight, Wimbledon Final was more important, but Zidane? What. The. Fk I can't believe i've seen him do that

Benji Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 You can hardly argue though although it was a tense game this was a dire final
Thracian Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Shaby end. Not a memorable match. Not a really good team to be seen. Tactics that belonged in a cemetery. England must be kicking themselves even harder than before.

England must be kicking themselves even harder than before. The match may become memorable due to the Zidane incident (ie for the wrong reasons). Not really a great match. I didn't mind the first half, but still not sure the hell happened in the second half? (Camoranesi on the "wrong side" etc - I thought Lippi was going wrong there) You may not like the match and the tactics (and I partly agree) but Italy still won the world cup and - if I could choose a team - I'd still pick Italy over any other for the trophy this time round (not that I am biased at all )
Ricey Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Shaby end. Not a memorable match. Not a really good team to be seen. Tactics that belonged in a cemetery. England must be kicking themselves even harder than before. It was a memorable match: - It started with Henry looking like he was going to have to go off - Then a dubiops penalty - Zidane tried a cheeky chip in a World Cup final and also his last game, the ball hit the bar, went in and then hit the bar again. - Italy responded with a good set-piece goal - Viera limps off in his last World Cup - Zidane nearly scores to repeat his 98 feat - Zidane then outrageoulsy head-butts Materazzi to be sent off in his last ever game - France then look shaky - A penalty shoot-out then follows with great penalties - Grosso scores to win the World Cup for scandel hit Italy. The game was largely an open game aswell, I don't sde how you can call it unmemorable. What does it take to get you excited over a football match? I wanted France to win but after Zidane got sent-off they were always going to lose, credit to Italy though as they were great penalties.

I agree that it was a memorable match, although every second I was thinking 'why wasnt it us?'
Tomassi Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 what fantastic scenes... Italians all over Leicester AWESOME I am so happy for my father who now has seen his Country win 2 world cups
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 10 July 2006 Author Posted 10 July 2006 Italy didn't deserve that, they were crap since half time. Trust Italy, they're always ruining things for everyone. They ruined it for us with their extravagant acrobatics, they ruined it for everyone during WW2 when they were bum-chums with the Germans, and they've ruined it for themselves with their inability to run an honest football board. I suppose we can all learn from this though - we should stick together and not allow the Portugals and the Italys of the world to taint our game. We have a great league that is still comparably owned by the fans. And that my friends is the Football League, and we needn't wait much longer until it entertains us once again

The fact is that teams like Portugal, Italy and even France disrespect the game with their bullshit tactics and antics. My vendetta is against Italy, because we were on the receiving end of that bullshit. Honestly, I could hardly stand watching Portugal because it was like watching theatre and not football. The Englands and the Netherlands of the world should be looked after and respected.

And that my friends is the Football League, and we needn't wait much longer until it entertains us once again Dear Dan, although the penalty in the Italy vs. Australia matchup was totally debatable, your comments about Italy during WWII are no longer appropriate. That war is over for more than 60 years now, at least two generations have passed by in between and it's bang out of order to compare this year's WC tournament with such events. Your general statements are only stemming from your personal dislike for Italy (it was that penalty, wasn't it?), but don't ruin it for everybody. Apologize. Italy is a deserving Football World Champion and we should all acknowledge that.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 10 July 2006 Author Posted 10 July 2006 Your general statements are only stemming from your personal dislike for Italy (it was that penalty, wasn't it?) Spot on. However my general dislike as you can see is for teams that do not play admirably, and Italy is one of them. As for the war remark, well spotted that it's hardly relevant Italy is a deserving Football World Champion and we should all acknowledge that. Bollocks. There were many other teams that were deserving who for whatever reason didn't make it through. The only decent show that Italy put on since us was against Ukraine.
Daggers Posted 10 July 2006 Posted 10 July 2006 I think the Italian said something to him, and wound him up. Coz we all respond to a bit of verbal like that don't we... Great player who will forever be remembered for being a bit of a twat. Shame.
Alexikokopops Posted 10 July 2006 Posted 10 July 2006 The Englands and the Netherlands of the world should be looked after and respected. Did you see the Portugal-Netherlands match? The Dutch were going down just as easy as the Portuguese.

That has to be the quote of the week - LMAO

The Englands and the Netherlands of the world should be looked after and respected. Racism = Life now adays. You only have to open your mouth and your being racist or "politically incorrect" ...Although I was abit harsh on the German at work today when I said "Get all the foreigners out of this country" - Not realising he was in the same room (I was genuinly talking about Football though, Get a few of the foreigners out of this country and prehaps English International football may improve, we have some great players but with less foreigners it can only get better! Not saying get rid of all foreigners from the English game because that would be boring but bring some kind of rule in!)

There were many other teams that were deserving who for whatever reason didn't make it through. The only decent show that Italy put on since us was against Ukraine. who's "us"? Personally, I liked the match against Germany. Let's face it. To win the World Cup, it is not enough to "play well" (not sure what you mean by "admirably"): you also have to get the points (THAT is why they didn't make it through). Personally, I don't like the format of the world championship (it doesn't "guarantee" that the best team gets the trophy). But, given that it currently is what it is, Italy seemingly struck the right balance between play and results this time.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 10 July 2006 Author Posted 10 July 2006 Who said anything about racism? - I did - And I find your comments and stereotyping to be offensive Well I guess then that when we say "Derby are sheep-shaggers" this is really a xenophobic statement used to express inherent racism towards 'people' of that particular county. Right...
