Daggers Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 I get 'depressed'. My presents are almost always crap and I get loads of 'humourous' cards telling me how old/bald/fartypants I am. I have lost count of the Poundstretcher pants, nylon brown socks and I was in an IT class the other week and this 17 year old girl was telling the class how her parents had given her £700 that morning! SEVEN HUNDRED POUNDS! Shocking. Why doesn't anyone buy me a PC game or a set of burning juggling sticks?

Yes, I get that sort of crap too, last year i got nasal hair remover from my mrs.....how sad!!!! This year i would like vouchers to Spearmint Rhino, or half a season ticket at city!!!
The People's Hero Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 For my last birthday my mates bought me three crates of beer, which was great, but they were well past their sell by date. My mum let me off that month's board at home. My dad forgot me. My girlfriend got me some aftershave I think. To be fair though, she earns less than I do, which takes some considerable effort. Overall common themes are socks/pants, alarm clock (funny as I have about 9), crap cds (some 'hip' uncle will get the The Feeling I'm sure), alcohol (can't complain) and just recently books (which I look forwards to now). All I really want is holiday vouchers or a trip for two to go wine tasting or other practical stuff for work/my car etc. I have about 1 million pairs of socks. Having said that, I'm a pretty rubbish present buyer. It's usually either a book which I know I'll find interesting and hope they will, or a pictureframe.
Shum Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Birthdays aren't a really a big thing for me, usually a few cards, and a night out with mates!
The People's Hero Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Do I ever actually say anything of note? No. What a horrible moment of realisation. I've become a grumpy old man with nothing significant to say or do.
Benji Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Anyone ever seen that My Super Sweet 16 on MTV? Makes me sick! Rich men basically let their daughters spend any amount of money on a birthday party which usually comes to a quarter of a million and they nearly always end up with a car as a b'day present, and i'm not talking a banger!

This year i would like vouchers to Spearmint Rhino, or half a season ticket at city!!! I think going from nose clipper to Rhino tickets is a bit of a leap... maybe you should try for Ronco jumper de-bobbler as a step towards the exciting vouchers. Aim to achieve them by 2015 or something.
Katy Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 I sometimes think my family dont know me at all I ask for vouchers usually and sometimes get them. Having said that I got some fantastic knee length beige boots off of Cobbo this year, bloody lovely with buckles and that and a smashing craft kit from Stezza. On the downside I got a DVD player that Stez has more use for and an England sunlounger when I dont sunbathe and like the sun I, on the other hand am fantastic at buying people presents and pick up on and take note of hints that people dont ever realise they are dropping
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 I will let you know next week how many pair of socks I get <_< If any one buys me that evil pinstripped creation of Skeletor shirt I am not going to be pleased. 22..... I don't need this shit, I like being 21.

I suppose your right, I will start by asking for a calendar of some fit model or soemthing and work my way up to rhinos's in 2015..............................counting down................

Deathside Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Is it only me that ends up with holes in socks (where your toes poke out) after about 1 month of ownership? I never complain about new sox - As long as they are the right sort
Guest Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 I get the usual mix of stuff I like, and stuff I politely say "I would never have thought to buy this". Tactful, innit.
Dellyjo Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 I usually get nice pressies as most of my mates & family are pretty thoughtful. It's easier to by for girls than for lads anyway.
Deathside Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 I'll tell you tomorrow. Would that be because you are doing a birthday tomorrow? Or because you're just too godamn lazy today??
Alexikokopops Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Would that be because you are doing a birthday tomorrow? Or because you're just too godamn lazy today?? A little bit from column A, a little bit from column B
Deathside Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 A little bit from column A, a little bit from column B Good call
Shram Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Replying to What do you tend to get for your birthday? Drunk...................and a free ride to the general P.S. It is my birthday in 5 days: I take cash, credit or porn....
cisono Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 I will let you know next week how many pair of socks I get <_< I wonder if people will get me socks too! (never got socks so far in my life - what is the girl's equivalent ?!?!?) Will let you know in about 10 day's time...
cisono Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 just money for me, kent go wrong wid money unless it is a very small sum... would you be happy with 10p!?!?!?!?
Nationwider Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 I get a couple of CDs and DVDs from Mrs NW, and usually a nice pair of jeans or a t-shirt. She's very clever at picking that sort of thing. I get bugger all else for my birthday. TBH, I'm not that bothered about my own birthday, but I do enjoy a good knees-up for someone else's. I am rubbish at buying presents. If you've ever had a present from me - I'm sorry, ok.
Daggers Posted 1 August 2006 Author Posted 1 August 2006 If you've ever had a present from me - I'm sorry, ok. ...but every post from you is like a little present NW
Guest Posted 2 August 2006 Posted 2 August 2006 I wonder if people will get me socks too! (never got socks so far in my life - what is the girl's equivalent ?!?!?) They're called socks.
