The Stig Posted 1 August 2006 Share Posted 1 August 2006 Link Yes they've said we have a hope of a promotion challenge but they've only mentioned Joey as going out and said besides Fryatt, Hammond is our key striker, do your research BBC!
Alexikokopops Posted 1 August 2006 Share Posted 1 August 2006 Yeah, I noticed that, posted it in the optimistic thread, ha. Here's what the BBC had to say about us for those too lazy to click on the link. LEICESTERNickname: The Foxes Ground: The Walkers Stadium Capacity: 32,500 Last season: 16th Manager: Rob Kelly (April 2006) In: Josh Low (Northampton), Darren Kenton (Southampton), Gareth McAuley (Lincoln), Andy Johnson (West Brom) Out: Joey Gudjonsson (AZ Alkmaar) BBC Sport verdict: Could this be the year that Leicester finally mount a promotion challenge? Manager Rob Kelly achieved some excellent results after taking the reigns from Craig Levein last season. Much will rely on strikers Matt Fryatt and Elvis Hammond but the creativity of new midfield signing Andy Johnson means they should have plenty of chances. Key man: Matt Fryatt. Has the attitude and talent to play in the Premiership. Link
Ultra Posted 1 August 2006 Share Posted 1 August 2006 Could this be the year that Leicester finally mount a promotion challenge? Perhaps, though probably not. They're spot on about Matty, though!

Shipman Out Posted 1 August 2006 Share Posted 1 August 2006 They have also done a feature on the best young players to look out for in the championship like Freddie Eastwood (southend - hopefully not Derby after they bid 1 mill today) Dyer at Southampton, Tom Soars at Palace, Barnes at Derby Not one mention of Stearman, Fryatt, Wesolowski.....nob heads. Id rather have our three anyday so whoever left them out must have been told to by Lineker so the big club wouldnt come fishing

Ric Flair Posted 1 August 2006 Share Posted 1 August 2006 It's not that bad a review, is it? It's very complimentary of us, other than they think Elvis is our first choice striker (perhaps he will be)
Head Honcho Posted 1 August 2006 Share Posted 1 August 2006 It's very complimentary of us, other than they think Elvis is our first choice striker (perhaps he will be) They obviously can't mention everyone and to many in the football world Hume is an attacking midfielder so probably why they mentioned Fryatt and Hammond up front. They said exactly the same in the SunSport guide to the football league too! They said they'll (city) will be looking to Fryatt and Hammond for the goals, with no mention of Humey, however they named Humey as our key man
