Jon the Hat Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 'Emergency' board meeting a week on Saturday? Sounds urgent You usually have to give a minimum of 14 days notice even for an emergency meeting to allow shareholders sufficient time to attend even if they are in Outer Mongolia.
Master Fox Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Be scared Im wear a dress!...... anyhow good news innit master fox Very good indeed FIAB. What colour is your dress may I ask?
Master Fox Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 You usually have to give a minimum of 14 days notice even for an emergency meeting to allow shareholders sufficient time to attend even if they are in Outer Mongolia. Nice there. Have you been?
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 There's a world of difference in a Leicester team full of people who've been developed here for years and one that's purchased off the shelf. It gives a bit more meaning to the word "club" I suppose. I'm not expecting you to understand or equate with that. We come from a different era. I know exactly what you mean, and I doubt there were many Austrlians and Ivorians at the club during this long passed "era". The problem is the era you speak off has passed, and we live in this one now, the one I'm from . I don't agree with it but it's the way it is. The FA set up rules long ago to stop football clubs getting rich at the turn of the last century, rule 34 I believe it was called, it stopped clubs becoming PLC's didn't allow them to have sugar daddy’s, stopped them from floating themselves on the stock market, most importantly they had limits on sponsorships ect ect. It may of been 106 years ago, but even then the FA could see what masses of money could do to the game and they took steps to prevent it. They saw football for what it was, a game of the people not to be abused. They should be proud of themselves, they're worth 10 of the spineless Muppets we have at Soho square now. Unfortunately rule 34 was chucked out the window in the 50's. Man u and other clubs floated themselves on the stock market, and got involved in more and more sponsorship got rich, then richer, and then richer still. I may not have got all the financial jargon right but that’s how things went bad. Things got worse when Ambromovic bought Chelsea, now every club is after some insanely rich person so they can throw money at the latest Saudi Brazilian sensation, a 30 million pound transferee kitty just isn't enough any more. Things will continue to slide down hill from here on in. Ticket prices spiral out of control, fans have to sit through endless mind numbing advertising. The sponsors become more important to football than the fans themselves, this was evident at the world cup when some fans were asked to strip at the request of a leading sponsor as their clothing advertised the sponsor in question leading competitors. Players get paid ridiculous amounts and get pampered by football clubs they play for. Kick off times are based around the TV. Football has screwed the people that made it great, no…the people it was made for. There is no identity left in football anymore, the word club only exists as no one can be bothered to change a 100 year old name. On the bright side media driven competitions like the Champions League show us 22 world class talents every other week. A small mercy if you ask me. The only difference between us is I have excepted what the sport has become and you haven't, I know that if we try and develop what we have, the richer clubs in this division will always be in front of us, and if they aren't the Premier league clubs certainly will. I know exactly what a club is and what it stands for, unfortunately there is no room for it in the modern game and as romantic as your ideas are they are no longer plausible. This is why we need Milan Mandaric To Progress.
Fox in a Box Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 He doesn't need to be he's not a board member. WRONG!!!!!!! he injected 100,000 pounds!
Fox in a Box Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Very good indeed FIAB. What colour is your dress may I ask? today blue.... tomorrow a slight grey :pinch:

Jon the Hat Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Nice there. Have you been? I find it an inconvenient location to get back from for all my board meetings.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 WRONG!!!!!!! he injected 100,000 pounds! So, leaving aside your shaky grasp of the difference between board members and shareholders for a second, how many board meetings do you reckon Emile Heskey gets along to?
Fox in a Box Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 50,000 and he's not a board member. ok, half right then....and I appologise! david G ....louise bloody know it all...... nice of him thou eh
The People's Hero Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 So, leaving aside your shaky grasp of the difference between board members and shareholders for a second, how many board meetings do you reckon Emile Heskey gets along to? I won't criticise Fox in a Box for being an idiot. But for repeatedly telling other intelligent and well informed people they are wrong, well I'll call him a cu nt for that.
Jon the Hat Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 ...intelligent and well informed people.... Where?
The Don Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 There's a world of difference in a Leicester team full of people who've been developed here for years and one that's purchased off the shelf. It gives a bit more meaning to the word "club" I suppose. I'm not expecting you to understand or equate with that. We come from a different era. Birchenall, from palace Glover, from charlton Wellor, chelsea, Stringfellow, mansfield Worthington, huddersfield An amazing team, full of attacking players, playing attacking football. Only pity is that they were a team full of mercanaries.
Quorn58 Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Local news at lunchtime promised Mandoric first TV interview on BBC1 East Midlands Today at 1830 tonight
The People's Hero Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Where? I have never claimed to be well informed regarding the Mandaric situation. But it's evident from reading this forum of late that I'm easily one of the more intelligent members of this forum. Or I could just revert to.. WE NEED MEELAN MANDARICH COS HE IS LIKE WELL GUD, INNEE?
Master Fox Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 I won't criticise Fox in a Box for being an idiot. But for repeatedly telling other intelligent and well informed people they are wrong, well I'll call him a cu nt for that. Leave FIAB alone. He try's his best

The People's Hero Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Quoting you signature would be equally intelligent !! ''If Carlsberg I made sigs, they'd be the best in the world. Probably Definitely.'' 1) That's not what my sig says, you've clearly missed the 'strikethru'. 2) Your post doesn't actually make any sense. 3) Fu ck off.
