Daggers Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 I havent read the mercury for months. How about answering the rest of the question?
Chairman of the Bored Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 Before this all kicks off again tomorrow, can I just quote T.S.Elliot: Between the idea And the reality Between the motion And the act Falls the Shadow TS, no relation to Matty Elliott, by the way....

dan_84 Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 I say to the House as I said to ministers who have joined this government, I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many months of struggle and suffering. You ask, what is our policy? I say it is to wage war by land, sea, and air. War with all our might and with all the strength God has given us, and to wage war against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark and lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs - Victory in spite of all terrors - Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival. Let that be realized. No survival for the British Empire, no survival for all that the British Empire has stood for, no survival for the urge, the impulse of the ages, that mankind shall move forward toward his goal. I take up my task in buoyancy and hope. I feel sure that our cause will not be suffered to fail among men. I feel entitled at this juncture, at this time, to claim the aid of all and to say, "Come then, let us go forward together with our united strength."
Chairman of the Bored Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 I have come to believe that the whole Mandaric affair is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth. With apologies to Umberto Eco "Whatever will be, will be, the deal's not ours to see, cos we're just the fans....." With apologies to the penniless, those bereft of power and the poor souls that pour through the turnstiles week after week seeking enlightenment and a damn good game of footy. For we know who we are and unless we ever win Euromillions we will always be cast as the outsiders looking in, not quite knowing what might be happening behind the closed boardroom door, but hoping that one day we might discover the truth. Amen.

The People's Hero Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 the only people here that can provide facts are FT but the power of being shareholders has gone to their heads. Indeed. Their enjoying their moment in the spotlight, allowing it to massage their egos and abandoning what they claim they're all about ie keeping the fans informed! There is bound to be the odd exception but the FT member (heirarchy) seem to be pretty much in it for themselves. Similar to the 'we are saving the club and don't expect a return or even our stake back' board who have suddenly abandoned this philosophy.

DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 the bottom line is that mandaric is no mug, you don't make the money he has if you're not ruthless as fcuk. Anyone thinking that mandaric is coming in to take great risk and seriously is passionate about LCFC to a great extent needs their heads looking at. On the flipside of that, people need to chill out a bit if they think that Milan is some sort of financial demon who has ulterior motives for the club. Of course he's not going to make business decisions whereby he can lose money - he would be no businessman then. But if we were going to be taken over by anyone, it should be someone like him. Someone who's still a businessman but has a general like and respect for the game at heart. They're the ones who are less likely to leave us in the shitter.

He isn't going to leave us in a worse position that we are currently because he is there to make some money, and that's not going to happen unless we get in the prem and stay up. It makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE for him to just come and let us drop.

Which bit of the concept of IF THEY TELL US WHAT THEY ARE TOLD IN CONFIDENCE THEY WILL BE TOLD NOTHGIN ELSE EVER AGAIN don't people get?? FFS!!! The trust can't represent anyone if they aren't in board meetings!! They won't be in board meetings if they are not able to keep confidential informatino to themselves!! Surely you can that it is better to have them there than not there?? They are the only people in the room who speak without financial gain in mind.

My worry is that they have always seemingly had their own agenda which caters more for the massaging of their own ego and justification of their own positions than doing anything for the 'common' man. That may or may not be the case. If it ISN'T the case, they should think about the image they project through their 'releases' and how they are represented on here.

The problem is, fans opinions differ vastly. Although there is often a general consensus with certain topics there are times when I hear various other fans opinions on stuff and it amazes me. How do they cater for all or the majority? I'm not a big fan of the Trust myself, no offence to them. I just think it's a thankless task and I don't seem to agree with what they say half of the time. Whether that's because thier opinion differs from mine or just the fact that they are pointless because the club don't really listen to them. I think they are up the clubs 'arris aswell, I know they can't go around slagging the club off and trying to undermind them. But there does come a time with certain issues that they need to make themselves counted. I'm not a member so i'm perhaps not in a position to criticise too much, but they should have a little think about how they go about things.
gatesheadfox Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 They are the only people in the room who speak without financial gain in mind. but they do like having power...well actually they don't have much but seem to think they run the place
Surreal Madrid Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 clap clap so far the reasons I have heard for turning the offer down are all based on "not enough" which has nothing to do with the clubs future, the loan argument is weak as it is a superior interest rate then to teachers. No, it will come out of Mandy's eventual profit. Why should the present shareholders help line the pockets of a millionaire?

They don't even have a place on the board. £250,000 worth of shares if i'm right and the club still ignore them. I wonder why?
The People's Hero Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Ask them their opinion on something and they'll run off to the club to find out!
Surreal Madrid Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Foxes Trust is made up of fans of the club? Or is it true that those who got us into financial trouble in the first place have a very large controlling interest in the club. They will hang on till the death, it makes me sick to my stomach at what is taking place with the 'leaked documents' and 'American Investors', there's been more spin in the past couple of days than there ever has been at this club. Allistair Campbell has a new job with the Foxes Trust I beleive. Mandaric wants into our backward club for some reason so lets make sure he gets in. Mandy hasn't done badly in the spinning stakes - The Leicester Manaric being his main mouthpiece.
Surreal Madrid Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 An accountant who can't read a set of accounts. Promising way of drumming up business, I'd have thought. Exactly - the accounts don't mention a golden share - ergo, there isn't one! What a twat!
Surreal Madrid Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 They don't even have a place on the board. £250,000 worth of shares if i'm right and the club still ignore them. I wonder why? £151,000.
Ric Flair Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Mandy hasn't done badly in the spinning stakes - The Leicester Manaric being his main mouthpiece. He's done very well, because usually the Mercury are wedged up the clubs muck pipe but somehow the Mercury seem to be going wild about the Mandaric deal and keep irritating the club by conducting interviews with Milan and publishing them. Milan's a clever man.
Ric Flair Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 £151,000. Quite a significant amount of money and yet the club won't allow them a place on the board. I wonder why? Because the club don't really give a shite about them.
bold_fox Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Could someone do a daily update on what happened the day before or what is possibly going to happen today ? ? Its a nightmare reading through all the replys because half of them are irrelevant !
