Ric Flair Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Although the shareholders have every right to want their money back, it does now mean that should Milan's offer be accepted that the we'll have less to spend on transfers. I'm not being ungrateful because these shareholders saved this club, but considering some have said they weren't in it as an investment, it does get me wondering whether these so called Leicester fans who have shares might relinquish them in order for the money to be spent on trying to achieve premeirship football. I know it won't happen and I understand why they would want their money back if available. But i'm a greedy fan, who doesn't own any shares so I want that extra £3 million for Koumas and Eastwood.
Bert Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Is that seriously the best you can do? I recommend you take on someone a bit less capable... say Ultra perhaps. Work your way up to me. Run along now. Arrogance at it's best, love it. But both of these bids could be scuppered by an anonymous American bidder entering the fray. (Daily Telegraph) Imagine if it's George Dubya!

You'd need at least £5million for those two even if they did want to come to us, which I am extremely sceptical of.
Bert Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 You'd need at least £5million for those two even if they did want to come to us, which I am extremely sceptical of. £5 million alone for Eastwood, as one of the commentators had quoted the Southend chairman, on last night's Carling Cup highlights.
Ric Flair Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 You'd need at least £5million for those two even if they did want to come to us, which I am extremely sceptical of. Tap, tap, tap. Just tap them up, get them to put in a threatening transfer request and that should lower the value. Koumas must still hate it there, even with Robbo gone. Eastwood would fancy the new revolution.

The People's Hero Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 I admire your optimism Flairy Whitehouse. Yeah, Bryan McFlair has really pulled out all the stops this time.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Yeah, Bryan McFlair has really pulled out all the stops this time. It's an awesome showing from Carlton Flairweather.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Yeah, Bryan McFlair has really pulled out all the stops this time. He's gone fookin mental, he was the only sane one left!
Ric Flair Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 I admire your optimism Flairy Whitehouse. It wouldn't happen, but that £3 million would help us out Fezz Man Scoop. It could get a pick a mix of David Jones, Billy Sharp, Will Hoskins, David Vaughan, Ian Harte. I like all of those.

David Vaughan tickles my fish, as does Andy Robinson from Swansea.

Ric Flair Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 MM never spent more than 2m on a player while he was in charge at Pompey... so a portsmouth fan said!!!!! To be honest, I don't expect we'd spend anymore than that on a player. It will be nice just to be able to start paying abit of money for players again. There are still excellent players out there from the lower leagues for less than half a million that are capable of playing at a higher level than we are playing at. We just need to get the right manager to be able to do that, let's hope we already have that manager. I think Yakubu was their biggest transfer under Mandaric and that was about £2 million. Then sold him for about £7 million.

I'm just hoping someone who can confirm this will back me up, I'm not arsed to look it up myself.

I believe they owned half his registration for the original 2m... they later agreed a payment to settle the rest I believe. Wasn't he from Maccaibi Haifa (spelling)?
