I can't speak for everyone but the fact that he's talking to the media about moving to the Premiership at the end of the season when he's hardly setting the world alight here might have something to do with it.

Wishful thinking on his part but still no reason to give him abuse surely? How dare the bastard have ambition, I demand he rots in the lower leagues after we don't want him anymore. ETA: Remember 6-months before the end of his contract he can start talking to other clubs, he's trying to drum up some interest. If we don't want to keep him I can't see much wrong with it, Joey did the same thing.

Why is everyone getting worked up? Finally somebody with a dose of sense. NEJ sees this club as his employer and treats it like a job. Of course he wants to play at a higher level if it's possible. Stating your ambition is hardly a crime. Besides, we may not even offer him an extension at the end of the season so it's inevitable that he has to consider his future. People need to think of the bigger picture before slaughtering him - all he's trying to do is earn a living at the end of the day. And it's not like he's told the Mercury that he's unhappy or he wants out, is it?

Having read that article it seems like Sky Sports have taken it from a Swedish football website. Someone's tried to translate it from Swedish to English. Reporters twist what people say to them enough even without the quotes going through a translation. Taken with a pinch of salt for me.

On a serious note I think this has probably been blown up out of proportion, I expect it was an off hand coment and some bored jornalist has had to dress it up to make a story out of nothing. Whether he's looking for a contract here or elsewhere he'll still have to play at the top of his game to impress and surely that can't be a bad thing. As for getting £400k for him forget about it. Maybe a few years ago but I'll bet that NEJ (like most of the other players at ours and similar clubs) will never be sold for a fee again. Things aren't like that anymore, everyone except the top clubs is broke and Bosman ruling means there are loads of free transfers to be had so why pay for an average player when you can pick up a similarly average player for free (or the same player for free in a few months time). This is why I'm so amazed Sunderland considered paying cash for Mabury.

The Swede's contract with The Foxes expires next summer and he has hinted at an exit from The Walkers Stadium. Johansson joined Leicester from Blackburn Rovers over 12 months ago and has been a regular fixture in the Championship side's defence. But the 26-year-old appears to be keen on a new challenge at the season's conclusion, with two options currently under consideration. A return to his homeland has not been ruled out, but the stopper's preference would appear to be a move to The Premiership. "My entire family are supporting Djurgardens," Johansson told Fotbolldirekt.com. "There are a couple of clubs who have been in touch. "I don't know if I will stay. I am hoping for something better. What worries me is that with a whole season to play we've got players who clearly (and explicitly) aren't commited to us and don't believe in the team achieving much. Still this relies on what he said being true and I imagine many footballers are not all that bothered about the club they play for.

There's not much loyalty knocking about in football anymore and im not hugely fussed if he stays or goes to be honest. I think him returning to the Premiership is a bit of wishful thinking as has been said previously.

If you read what he says, he's actually saying that the offers he's recieved so far aren't good enough for him to consider staying in England, and he'd like to either go to a Prem club or the club his family support. Although I do take theboywillmott's point about tapping up. I suppose Kelly might have allowed him to talk to other clubs with the vague hope that we could get a transfer fee from him, but then decided to keep him.

You’re taking up a place and wages of someone who does care So the guy is hoping for something better. well aren't most people. maybe he doesn't think leicester are good enough for him but maybe that is true. most of us think we should be in the premiership but the fact is we are nowhere near good enough. maybe if you worked for a company who uses you in a position which is not your preffered choice and whose colleagues spend all the time slagging you off on websites and blogs then you too might feel like you wanted something better. perhaps if he was consistently played in his best position (left centre back) he might actually be the player we want him to be. he is not the first player to want away and he wont be the last. after all gudjonnson signed a pre-contract agreement with another club half way through a season thereby expressing his opinion on leicester but I don't recall this type of response. i don't like reaidng theses sort of comments but we should all calm down a bit.
