Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 Leicester City defender Nils-Eric Johansson is hoping to secure a return to The Premiership at the end of the season. The Swede's contract with The Foxes expires next summer and he has hinted at an exit from The Walkers Stadium. Johansson joined Leicester from Blackburn Rovers over 12 months ago and has been a regular fixture in the Championship side's defence. But the 26-year-old appears to be keen on a new challenge at the season's conclusion, with two options currently under consideration. A return to his homeland has not been ruled out, but the stopper's preference would appear to be a move to The Premiership. "My entire family are supporting Djurgardens," Johansson told Fotbolldirekt.com. "There are a couple of clubs who have been in touch. "I don't know if I will stay. I am hoping for something better. "Most of all, I would like to return to the Premier League." LINK

holly Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 well i dont beleive it, they said maybury was off to sunderland and he is still here so yeh WHATEVER
Durnerz Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 What makes him think he deserves to go back to the Prem?! Hes been an average left back in this division and a suspect Centre half, Nils, if you want it mate you've gotta earn it.
Bert Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 If this is true it feels like a huge kick when he says: "I don't know if I will stay. I am hoping for something better.
Master Fox Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 What a joke! Who fecking hell does he think he is?
Thracian Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 I couldn't give a toss and maybe he's seen the writing on the wall. Premiership? You have got to be joking. It might just save Kelly having to worry about making an awkward decision in respect of his ex-Blackburn pal but I wish he'd made it ages ago because, while he might be okay as a centre-back he won't oust our top pair and he's no left back even though the "stick to experience" brigade conveniently ignore how often he gives the ball away.
Janx Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 Smell an agent leaking this story .... sniff sniff!!
ithuriel Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 if he is out of contract at the end of the season and wanting a move already will we get the best out of him ?will anyone notice?
Finnegan Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 Who the fock calls defenders "stoppers"? How wank.
Bert Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 Who the fock calls defenders "stoppers"? How wank. Well we don't all live in "Sosban's fantasy world" do we? It's the americans that call them this. Anything you else you want to moan about?

Hes been an average left back in this division and a suspect Centre half, Nils, if you want it mate you've gotta earn it. My thoughts exactly... he's been a good player but you gotta really ask yourself whether you're premiership material. At best he'd be sidelined until someone better gets injured.
The Don Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 Let him rot in the reserves!! 3 games into the season ffs. We may yet return to the prem - too early to tell yet. At least when Joey went, it was cos the club couldn't afford a new contract, and didn't offer him one, so he had no choice. He waited till Jan at least.
oundlefox Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 So NEJ hasn't got too much of a highly inflated opinion of himself at all has he? I think he might need a bit of a reality check though. He left Blackburn to join us mere mortals in the Championship because funnily enough no other Premiership side wanted him. I actually quite like him but if he thinks he's going to be back in the Premiership next season then he's kidding himself about his own ability. Pains me when players think they are so much better than they actually are. The Championship is about Nisse's level and hardly think Ashley Cole will be too worried.

At least when Joey went, it was cos the club couldn't afford a new contract, and didn't offer him one, so he had no choice. He waited till Jan at least. We did offer him one, but he wanted to go abroad again as he saw this as his last chance to experience European football (Alkmaar were vying for a Champions League spot).
Shipman Out Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 WHAT A ****, He wants to start looking at his own performances before looking dreamy eyed at the Premiership! Get rid now FFS we need money we have SHEEHAN FFS where was he again last night facking Maybury at left back why havnt we sold that turd yet either NEJ your a joke i recorded the Luton game and watched when i got home pissed when you had to ball i had to Fast Forward and it still took you two minutes to reach the halfway line you sad twat This is why Cole hasnt gone Chelsea yet Mourinho is waiting on NEJ....Twat
Matt Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 All i'm saying is if the players really want it that much, show it, play for it, push themselves. They have not played bad in the last few games but keep that up, push yourselves harder than ever before and if a certain player is doing all they can get other players fired up and pushing themselves, its alright moaning you want premiership football, but thing is its only the players and players around them that can do that, no matter how much noise the fans make, we can't get the players to play well or win, Stop ya whining NEJ and do something about it if you want it that much, that goes for other players who come out doing interviews after a loss and saying "We really are trying hard, and do want the wins"....
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 August 2006 Author Posted 23 August 2006 Pipe dream. Any Premiership scouts who come to watch NEJ this season will go back to their respective club managers and say "not fussed either way but there are some great kids down there who we can poach off their sorry debt-ridden arse."
Wils Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 I dont think hes good enough for premiership anymore. Hes too slow and gives the ball away too much for me. :pinch:
Monk Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 Please let this be true. I hate Nils more than any other leicester player purely because all he ever does when he gets the ball is HOOF to the opposition. Every time. He was totally outwitted at Luton and was completely out of his depth. Maybe he was misquoted and what he actually said was "Give me some more money and I'll get you relegated'. Comon Jose I know your scouts must be hot on Nil's heels!
oundlefox Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 Didn't see too many Blackburn fans protesting outside Ewood Park when he was coming to us. And for a big bloke he's crap in the air too. I bet even Porter outjumps him in training.
