London_Fox Posted 25 August 2006 Share Posted 25 August 2006 Any reason for Prior to get anything other then a great welcome on his return? He seems to still hold us in high regard... http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?k...582006337192231
willy37 Posted 25 August 2006 Share Posted 25 August 2006 shame hes not playing... and he was hardly one of our greatest players
oundlefox Posted 25 August 2006 Share Posted 25 August 2006 He deserves one definitely. Proper old fashioned no nonsense defender in my book.
Head Honcho Posted 25 August 2006 Share Posted 25 August 2006 Spencer was one of my favourite's when he played for us 100% every game. Over 20 clean sheets in 78 games is a pretty good record for the premiership
Thracian Posted 25 August 2006 Share Posted 25 August 2006 A perfectly respectable "old boy" who deserves the fans' appreciation.
sonia jackson Posted 25 August 2006 Share Posted 25 August 2006 yeah, he deserves a decent reception. Probably woul have been here longer if Walshie hadn't shagged his Mrs.
Thracian Posted 25 August 2006 Share Posted 25 August 2006 Didn't know about that one. Is it just rumour or is there anyone Walshie didn't shag? Hang on - I just want to speak to my wife.. PS: How did Walshie ever find time for training?
syston_fox Posted 25 August 2006 Share Posted 25 August 2006 He was part of the 1997 coca-cola cup winning squad so is a legend in my book just for that!
Cobbo Posted 25 August 2006 Share Posted 25 August 2006 I think Prior shagged Walshie's missus didn't he? Cos his was 8 months preggers or summat?
Ultra Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 A perfectly respectable "old boy" who deserves the fans' appreciation. Which he's had, whenever he's come back with the sheep or Man City. I see no reason why today should be no different, whether he plays or not.
SystonFox Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 whoever Prior shagged or Walshie they are both heroes. if Prior plays today or is on the bench i hope he gets an ovation.
Spaceman Spiff Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 I'm not sure whether Spinner will be playing to be honest - he took a knock against Sunderland in the first half. He's a legend in these parts too - several years excellent service as a youngster, the last time we were at this level in the early-mid nineties, before he moved on to the Prem. Most of us would prefer Peter Clarke to play instead of Spinner to be honest, particularly if he is carrying an injury (or coming back from one) but the word is that he's made a good recovery and could come back into the side... Either way, he's an all round good fella so I hope he gets a good reception from one of his former clubs - the match against Sunderland was his 500th league appearance incidentally. OBO Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 Yeah I read he won't be playing because he's injured too (Only on BBC Sport though so I suppose it's not exactly gospel!) Shame really, I loved him when he played for us.
Shipman Out Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 "I had a couple of fantastic years, from the Coca-Cola Cup to really great fans. It was a buzzing time to be at Leicester. "The people and the players that were there were excellent, the support was brilliant and there was a real buzz about the football club, about the ground and about the city." I really rated him and didnt want us to sell him..its almost sad reading that he is in for a shock when he experiences the walkers cauldron!! still ill be singing loud and proud as always so im positive, id like to see him back, top man. I dont think it was him with Walsh's Mrs i heard it was Elliot
ithuriel Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 i liked him and i will applaud someone who put in the effort and wasnt a money grabbing prima-donna like so many in the prem are these days.

Ultra Posted 27 August 2006 Share Posted 27 August 2006 Prior the striker, some lovely skills from the nippy lad. Good ovation too. Nice touch by his manager to let him play at the Way. Apparently he's retiring at the end of the season and emigrating to Australia, so we probably won't see him again.
FNQ Posted 27 August 2006 Share Posted 27 August 2006 Nice touch by his manager to let him play at the Way. It's called the Walkers stadium, or the Walkers.
Matt Posted 27 August 2006 Share Posted 27 August 2006 It's called the Walkers stadium, or the Walkers. Its called The Walkers Stadium BUT if people want to call it the Walkers, the Way that also fine
Ultra Posted 27 August 2006 Share Posted 27 August 2006 It's called the Walkers stadium, or the Walkers. I don't get paid to advertise junk food, and as it happens neither do the club. The sponsorship deal was done with the previous regime. If they'd paid proper rates, we might have had the money to make some decent signings. So Filbert Way it is, and Filbert Way it'll stay! Jonbluefox9 Posted 27 August 2006 Share Posted 27 August 2006 It's called the Walkers stadium, or the Walkers. I only call it the Walkers or the Walkers Stadium when talking to non-City supporters, otherwise it's Filbert Way for me too.
placidcasual Posted 28 August 2006 Share Posted 28 August 2006 It's called the Walkers stadium, or the Walkers. I assume you always referred to the old stadium as City Stadium then?
