Upcoming Fixtures

Recommended Posts

I am sure i will be slated for starting a thread like this but the upcoming months dont look to be promising. We currently sit in a respectable 11th place after a mini run of decent results, however by the end of October it is likely we will be back in the bottom five.

WBA away - one of the favourites for promotion and we dont travel well.

Hull home - should be a victory

Sunderland away - Keane's 1st game as manager, dont see us getting any pints from there

Colchester home - should win comfortably

Birmingham away - most likely a loss

Southampton home - look a good side and the Walkers isnt exactly a fortress, probably a loss

Leeds away - a loss because i dont see us winning many away

Crystal Palace home - will be up near the top of the table at the end of the season, can see Scowy netting the winner and PT jumping up and down on the touchline.

QPR away - have started well and look better than everyone thought. another away defeat.

Stoke home - should be a win

Of course there is a possibility we will get more points than i have predicted but knowing Leicester at the moment we probably wont. I hope to be proved wrong, however does anyone else that agree that despite this new sense of optimism, we will be back in a similiar position as last season?

It is also concerning that our strikers havnt scored as many as they are capable of.

haha where is the faith man!! we have the potential to win against anyone in this league all they have to do is put there mind to it, and play there hearts out with commitment. and i think that is begining to come along now, and i think RK has the potential to make this happen. i beleive we can do well this season and i think we will put a good run together now, and then become average later on in the season but i think that average will be good another to get a play off place. optimistic maybe but its what i beleive!!

however i do agree with you about the strikers, but we are scoring from other areas this year, i think pefecting set peices would also gain us alot of goals and alot more wins rather than draws.

WBA away - they lost 2-0 today, i fancy us to cause an "upset"

Hull home - possible win, draw at least

Sunderland away - Keanos 1st home game, their fans and players will be up for it. draw at best

Colchester home - dont like to be overconfident but if they beat us at our place it dont look good. home win.

Birmingham away - they arent invincible. can be beaten.

Southampton home - good side this year, a loss for us

Leeds away - draw as i see them as a weaker team than last few seasons.

Crystal Palace home - easy win last yr, havent exactly strengthened but seem to be doing well so far. beatable.

QPR away - they have not started well steve lcfc, they are below us currentley. we should win or draw.

Stoke home - should be a win but probably lose.

From what I saw of both Sunderland and WBA today, there's nothing to be scared of there!

(If we end up on the wrong end of a tonking, I would like to disassociate myself from the above statement).

I’m not carried away by any optimism at the moment, but I’m fairly content… but I’d say you being a wee bit negative looking at the upcoming fixtures…

"WBA away - one of the favourites for promotion and we dont travel well"

We travelled well towards the end of last season and we’ll be facing them after a surprise loss to Sunderland, we’ll have a better shot if we eradicate some recent scrappiness… but yeah I’d say we’d be doing very well to come away with anything.

"Hull home - should be a victory"

Their doing poorly this season and it’s a home game for us, should beat them, with any luck it should be a pretty straight forward games to boot.

"Sunderland away - Keane's 1st game as manager, dont see us getting any pints from there"

It’ll be much trickier than I thought it might be a few days back, but I’m still not as worried about it as I was at the start of the season… Sunderland are shaky in defence, throw some pace at them and we should create chances. It’s a game where we could pull it off or get pounded, total tossup IMHO.

"Colchester home - should win comfortably"

They have had one or two decent showings but they still seem pretty weak for the division, it’s a home game for us and I’d agree that we should win.

"Birmingham away - most likely a loss"

It’ll be very tough indeed IMHO, away and against a side that is easily the strongest in the division (player for player), you can never rule something special out but baring that we’ll come away with nothing.

"Southampton home - look a good side and the Walkers isnt exactly a fortress, probably a loss"

To be honest I’ve got no idea, but I think we could struggle… still a winnable games for us and far from a likely loss.

"Leeds away - a loss because i dont see us winning many away"

Have had an indifferent start to the season at best, winnable for us they’ll have an advantage as the home side but nothing more than that.

"Crystal Palace home - will be up near the top of the table at the end of the season, can see Scowy netting the winner and PT jumping up and down on the touchline."

It’ll be interesting to say the least ;) … but I’d agree we’ll be lucky to get anything out of the game.

"QPR away - have started well and look better than everyone thought. another away defeat."

Competitive game, despite their decent start to the season, a lot will depend on what sort of form we(and they) have hammered out up till then… it’s winnable, but it’s really too far off to say for sure either way.

"Stoke home - should be a win"

Probably agree… long way off though, what will our form have been like up until then?

"I hope to be proved wrong, however does anyone else that agree that despite this new sense of optimism, we will be back in a similiar position as last season?"

As I say I’m not swept along by any new sense of optimism… a commanding win, a scrappy draw and a scrappy win should make anyone feel hugely optimistic but content that we’ve improved… I’ll see how we’re doing after the next few tougher games and then I’ll see if I’m optimistic or not… but I’m optimistic about finding my self optimistic in a few weeks :D:cool::thumbup:

why does everyone assume we will lose to Southampton. Out of their first 5 theyve won 1 and drawn 4. So theyve won less games than us and are on the same points. There the leagues draw specialists so that is the result thats most likely, however a victory for us would not surprise me

Where the hell has this inferiority complex come from?

All sides in this league are beatable, home or away. We have nothing to fear from any of them.

Most of the fancied sides have already had at least one poor result this season and if we catch them on a bad day we can turn them over.

And since when did Taylor suddenly become a decent manager? Palace will be a mid-table team at best this season. Their sole tactic of route one hoofball to Scowcroft will soon be sussed out. After all, we tried it for long enough!

Anyone can beat anyone in this league. Fact!!! It's too hard to predict, who thought Reading would win it last year and who thought Cardiff would be the early pace setters!

Cardiff were quite well fancied amongst those in the know :P

I'd agree with that. You can't really look at fixtures a couple of months down the track because teams may be in different positions then. I think in the short term we may be raped by WBA despite their form v Sunderland but the few after that are certainly winnable.

We will beat WBA because I will be there watching the mighty LCFC put in a upset performance.

WBA 0 - 2 LCFC

Kisnorbo Celebrating getting called up for the Socceroos and Fyratt because I have never seen him play for the mighty ones.

Bring on Hull! Shame that Peter Ta#$%r is still not with them as I owe him a basting!!!!

History is repeating itself with him isent it. Starting off on top of the leauge (as he was with Leicester) then taking them down. What odds are Palace to go down either this or next season?

COME ON YOU MIGHTY FOXES

Even with your negative predictions, you're still looking at 15 points from 10 games - which would give us 22 points from 15 games. That's top half-ish, I reckon.

Kelly turned this shower in to a hard to beat side last season when we were dead and buried, he's capable of getting us to get points against any team in this league but it's hard to always make the right choices. Our strikers have got to find their form, especially away from home when chances are at a premium.

4 goals out of 5 games, 3 of those came in 1 game. Must improve.

i reckon we will win most of those games and only loose 1 or 2

because last seasonw when kelly took charge we won against similar oppostion when he got the confidence up

and againwe have just started gathering momentum so

UP THE CITY

Hard to predict, our away form has been poor, and were not really creating many chances. On the plus, the defence looks alot more sturdy and we have some good players that are beginning to shine!!

I beleive RK will play for the 'smash and grab' and pay alot of respect to WBA. Whether city are good enough to get enough points playing those tactics.......only time will tell!!!

It reads better if you say six goals from four games since we started attacking - and only one goal conceded. Not too much evidence there of being overrun since we've played wingers!. :):):)

Some nice home fixtures coming up, if we can couple it with a few good points on the road we may actually be able to pass as play off contenders for awhile  imagine.

The Baggies will be hard to contain, and they do deserve respect especially on their own patch, they are on of the best teams in this league. The best way to go about it would be to frustrate them for the first 15 minutes to take the life out of the Hawthorns and then step up a gear. With a back four of Stearmen Kisnorbo Mcarthy and Kenton we have a reasonable chance of a shut out if they all play to the best of their ability.

Hopefully Josh Low wont be dropped after one bad performance, it seems pointless signing a inconsistent player if your going to do that, especially if he decides to have a off day when we win. The midfield as a whole will need to step it up, I expect Andy Johnson to well up for this game in particular, I bet good money on Tiatto playing if fit, suppose we could do with his type of player in the team but it leaves us little going forward.

Fryatt and Hume are due a good day, and Leicester City are long due a good away result.

I don't know about Kellys away day teams... they're defensive but they get results (well they did last season anyway) of course sometimes we lose and look useless but then most teams, even play off chasing teams do on occasion away from home. I suppose we have only played away twice so time will tell.
