The sun has reported that Arsenal accepted an offer of £5m plus Gallas for Ashley Cole. I reckon its all been sorted and the transfer has gone through but the press havent been informed yet!

Probably the case. Expect a raft of additional, unknown, transfers to be announced tomorrow.

So long as the paperwork is done on time, the announcements can wait. ;)

Bit old for us to be intrested in a sell on fee as well, and there would probabley be a minimum amount, how much has he gone for undisclosed?

Well, according to the Sunderland website, the fee could rise to 1.9m from the initial 1.4m paid to Wigan.

Less than half they paid us for him at worst, less than two thirds at best.

Bad business - but then again, he was a serious panic buy exactly a year ago. ;)

It's all over now - William Gallas and Ashley Cole have swapped placed, with Chelsea also paying 5m pounds to Arsenal.

This new can also be found on the Chelsea website (but oddly enough, no sign of it at Arsenal yet... their webmaster obviously went to bed earlier than his Chelsea counterpart) :P

Yorke wont play up front after his world cup midfield performances surely?

I was looking on a sunderland forum last night and they all seem to believe he has been signed to fill the striker role. I dont see them needing any more midfielders so I assume he'll partner Connolly upfront or even play just behind the two frontmen. It should be interesting to see what team Keane picks for his first game anyway and with all the competition for places now, he has a tough job on his hands keeping everyone happy

Happens in lower League clubs occasionally, I remember Lincoln signed 6 or 8 players on the same day and it wasn't even transfer deadline day.
