I'm going bowling tonight with the girlfriend

I thought I might get a response to this, and also the one from Phube, If I had Davey G's powers of multi replying, I would.

I am a fan of this club, yet I do not live and breath LCFC, I have other interests outside of this and I also friends and family, who I would rather spend my money and time on than paying out for the football match. Lisa, thats very anal of you telling me to grow up, but as you don't know anything about me, I won't take offence. When you have little money - I have a child of 8 weeks, and limited free time - I have a child of 8 weeks, I would rather do something that my gf and I really enjoyed, than something that we liked but did not enjoy immensly. You are obviously more into Leicester than I am, and you would probably prioritise LCFC over most other things, but to condemn someone who wasn't into it as much as you and who is only speaking truthfully is a little below the belt.

As for your kids response, I really don't get your point - sorry.

I am sure I am not the only person in this thought of mind, judging by attendences, it seems likely. But I am sure that if you call every person who decides not to go to the football imature, then the attendences will soon shoot up again.

She was making the point that we need a young fan base attending the Walkers regularly not swanning off to Glory hunt at OT. Emirates Stamford Bridge ect. As they are just as much the future of this club as our young players are.

Oh get ya, no rather at leicester, but preferrably in the family stand, the stand that encorporates familys allegedly!! Was it the Singh who complained the Filbert spent more time in front of the Kop than the family stand?? Probably because there's more kids in the Kop than in the family stand..

Should this not be on the general forum? Somebody's not going to the game, big deal, we could get in excess of 55 million similar posts from the rest of the population.

I think his reasons for not going warrant discussion.

Not really no - I've not really mentioned the bowling have I , If, for example I went on about my expectations for the evening, what shoe -size I was gonna wear, whether I'm putting the bumpers up or not, then you may well be right, It should go somewhere - not sure though if it would go in General Chat or Sport??

But seeing as this thread was started as I was not going to watch our beloved LCFC, and seeing as that it is quite probable that we are going to get the lowest ever league attendence at the way tonight, I think it is quite pertinant.

We all want better players, but with out the fans coming through the turnstiles, we'll never get them.

Yes I am as much to blame as the other non attendees, I am just putting forward the reasons why I'm not going to the game tonight, as it is likely that some/ all reasons are to blame for others not going.

Well, one of his reasons won't be applicable next year as he won't be able to smoke whist bowling. As to ticket prices, that is for him to decide how he spends his leisure money, I don't think ours are paticularly worse than other teams, and I don't think football in general will be reducing prices that much. As the fans fixtures showed, reducing prices didn't actually do much to increase attendances. From my perspective, I find following LCFC home and away pretty good value for money in terms of the enjoyment I get out of it, OK that includes the social side meeting up with friends.

The footballs enough to keep me attending on a fairly regular basis. Crap as it may be I do still enjoy it.

I very rarely go to football games that are televised these days how ever.

I know where you are coming from however, i recently took a pay cut for a new job which in toe means i cannot afford to do the same things as i did before, i will still go too away games as i enjoy the day out and the atmosphere but the walkers is just the dullest place to be at the moment. Which is a shame. :(

I wasn't having a go at you for not wanting to spend £23, I can understand not having the money to go. (Although my recent expirience of bowling I believe football is better value, ~£7.00 each for 15-20 minutes of bowling especially if there is only gonna be the two of you!!!!) Or spending quality time with your g/f after a child are all pefecly decent reansons... What annoyed me was the ranting about smoking and kids that just turned me off.

Sorry for any offence... :(

Enjoy your evening (eventhough I'm guessing it'll cost you more per hour than tonight would have done!!

Thank you, I'm sure I will have a good evening. I will be keeping in touch with the score and will hopefully be p*ssed off for missing the best game of football at the way for years. I might have seemed to be ranting over the Kids and smoking, but that is just a small part. The matchday experience has been greatly reduced in my eyes over the last few years, from stewarding, to prices of programmes, to 1 year kit cycles, to service on the concourse, to the post horn gallop. I love Leicester and even when we were cr*p I went, but the rest of the day made up for it. Its a sad day when I go bowling instead of football, I never thought it would happen, but i've had enough and many people my age feel the same.

Stupid prices. Im poor, I can't pay 20 odd quid to watch us lose, I'm trying my best to get some Juvi tickets for me and friends. ARGH

The Don is also a secret Genius In Disguise. What a mighty decision to go bowling with The Don-ess tonight instead of going to the game. Well done my friend!

If you want to patronise, do it properly. <_<

As you know nothing about me, or my circumstances past and present, you should not make assumptions.

Of course there are many reasons why people cannot attend games, and that's fair enough, but just because you can't have a ciggy and some people don't join in with any singing is more anal than anything I have written. Your original post didn't come across as someone who was putting his life into perspective, it looked like you'd thrown your teddy out of the pram.

As for the kids comments, I thought it was patently obvious what it meant. But seeing as you think I am calling those who don't go to games as immature in some sweeping generalisation, I shouldn't be surprised.

Well, what an extremely enjoyable evening was had, all for £35 for the 2 of us.

Only downside being Leicester lost.

And Lisa :kissing:, you were probably right, I did throw my toys out of the pram. I don't like the match day experience and the football we're playing is crap I'm just fed up with it all, hence the bowling...

No worries. I think we're all as frustrated as each other!

Now pick yer mess up before someone gets hurt (by the way, can I have the pink teddy?)!!
