Player Ratings against Hull

Can I give Nisse a minus number? I was getting so fed up with the constant passing back to the keeper!!! ARGH!!!

And never fecking passing to Porter - the only player who looked dangerous. At least in the first half - I don't think he came out for the second.

Posted

Hendo - 5 - poor kicking again didn't really have anything to do

Nisse - 4 - the 'CRAB' cannot go forwards

Kisnorbo - 7 - Solid, maybe should have done better with some headers

McCarthy - 7 - ^

Kenton - 5 - .....

Porter - 7 - Looked the only one with anything decent

Hughes - 4 - lightweight, ducks out of everything, couldn't pass

Johnson - 3 - Another 'crab' he is there to tackle and get stuck in... does he do this? does he balls

Low - 5 - Ok

Hume - 4 - Ran a lot

Fryatt - 4 - did nothing AGAIN

hendo - 6 - a few g ood saves, should have seen the shot earlier for the goal and would have helped if he is near his goal line.

nissa - 3 - awful, pass forwards, control the ball

kissa - 6 - headed well and keeps his cool

mccarthy - 5 - too many hoof balls

kenton - 5 - average

porter - 6.5 - looked dangerous, ran alot

hughes - 5 - should control the ball better and be harder

johnson - 3 - passes the wrong way, slips over, silly hair

low - 5 - not enough support

hume - 5 - alot of effort but no end product

fryatt - 5 - offers alot of options but players need to realise when he has his back to goal put the ball to his feet, not his head.

I can't be bothered, none of them other than Porter deserve a rating over 2. I feel sorry for the strikers, the service they get is embarrassing.

Johnson never broke sweat all match, shocking performance.

Henderson - 6 - did what needed doing, again no chance with the goal

Nisse - 3 - Doesn't care, doesn't want to be on the pitch, defensive, cr@p

McCarthy - 6 - Did little wrong although Hull never threatened

Kisnorbo - 6 - same as McCarthy

Kenton - 5 - Didn't do much wrong, but we needed a more attacking right back tonight

Levi - 8 - Can't fault him at all, did nothing wrong, not afraid to take players on or cross the ball first time

Johnson - 5 - ran around pointlessly doing little and always using the long ball

Hughes - 4 - Offered absolutly nothing

Low - 5 - Worst i've seen him play, he could have been all over the right back had he been bothered

Fryatt - 4 - Rubbish

Hume - 5 - Tried but that's not enough

-----

Stearman i am undecided about

O'grady looked the best player in his short spell except for Porter

Posted

Ratings - minimum times they gave the ball away with no pressure on them

:o Johnson was superb, leave the lad alone.

Seriously though, how can you feel sorry for the strikers? Fryatt got the ball on numerous occasions tonight and did nothing. One where he could have slipped in to Hume, and another where he was 30 yards out looking away from the goal and still had a shot?

More seriously

Hendo - 7 Kicking pisspoor as always, had no chance with what was a beautiful goal but was at least shouting at his defence (especially that fecker Stearman) and did seem far more motivated. Like in getting forward for the last throw of the dice.

Kenton - 6 Could actually have put a header in at the right end this time. Linked up with Low far better than that fecker Stearman and wasn't a bad outlet for Johnson's sideways balls.

Kis - 7 Generally solid. Not sure wht he was up to when Bridges got through, though.

McCarthy - 6 Better than normal. Especially when he had to cover for that fecker Stearman as well as doing his own job

Nils - 2 Why not try the pass to Porter once in a while? After all, he is better going forward than Hendo.

Low - 6 Inconsistent. When he keeps the soles of his boots white - generally fine. Drifting in - no, no, NO.

Hughes - 4 Two too many touches every time. Get Williams back. He might be lazy, but he knows the importance of a quick pass. And he might let Porter take the corners.

Johnson - 6.5 At times, the best I've seen him play. The long ball to Kenton, on the edge of the box, after two short passes returned to him, was easily the best pass he's made so far. And getting back to try and aid distribution... But too many high and hopefuls.

Porter - 7 Brilliant first half. Not out for the second. Partly lack of service, partly being in the wrong place.

Fryatt - 4 Could be a season without goals

Hume - 6 Not connecting too often - but at least trying to be inventive.

Subs

Stearman - 0. I could understand him playing badly on the right wing, but as a right back he was disastrous.

COG - 5 Poor touch, too often.

The board - 0 For not selling that fecker Stearman.

Fryatt has no support all game. He works tirelessly down the flanks trying to get a corner/throw in and after a half of that is understandably frustrated by it all. I can't remember the last clear cut chance he had to score. The only time we even look threatening is when the ball was played out to Porter and he ran forward positively.

At one point in the second half when we were losing I remember we had everyone back bar Fryatt, just because Hull had a throw in by the corner flag. The number of times Hume was playing right back in the last 20 minutes... It's all so negative.

Henderson 2 - dreadful distribution. He's definitely one of RK's chosen men.

Kenton 6 - steady, we definitely missed him once he went off.

McCarthy 8 - class. not his fault that so many teammates were cack.

Kisnorbo 7 - just one mistake, shame it cost us the points. :(

Johansson 3 - waster. We MUST find a left-back before it's too late.

Low 5 - bottled it. Never made a decent cross all night.

Hughes 5 - fluttered in and and out. Not good enough.

Johnson 1 - makes Williams look like Steven Gerrard. Get rid. NOW!!

Porter 6 - superb 1st half, faded badly in the second due to complete lack of service.

Hume 6 - worked hard, but needs to decide whether he's a midfielder or striker.

Fryatt 5 - no service, no confidence, no hope.

Stearman 4 - badly off the pace tonight.

O'Grady 6 - height and pace caused problems. Should have come on a lot earlier.

He isn't going to get chances on a plate. Last season he made chances for himself that is what people are forgetting. When he gets the ball now he wastes it.

Also people have to go back to get the ball?! If they are fannying about with the ball in the corner we can't all be up can we? who is going to get the ball off them when they are passing between about 5 players

Posted

henderson 5 some good saves but his kickinf was woeful. too long/into touch/ to one of their players.

nils 3 pretty useless. can't pass not great defensively either tonight.

kisnorbo 5 solid enough but really had little to do. stop the long diagonal ball he just can't play it!

mccarthy 4 where is the leadership?? the guy is the worst passer of the ball in the club. continuos long hoof

part of the problem of why we can't build from the back. overrated.

kenton 5 average

hughes 3 simply the biggest let down in the squad. has never fulfilled early potential and doubt he ever will

johnson 0.5 just abysmyl. 3 years over the hill. why on earth did kelly sign him? passing was crap and nearly always played over his head in the air without knowing where it was going.

poter 6.5 good 1st half. faded a bit in the second. needed to get the ball a lot more

low 4 lucky to get that. is he really any better than sylla??

hume 3 sorry but he was awful tonight. never in the game. seems to have lost it.

fryatt 4 looking more and more out of his depth at the moment. short on confidence and the right type of service

stearman 1 a cameo performance fit for the comedy stage. seems to have lost the plot big time.

o' grady 5 some nice touches but still a long way off being good enough. but at least he looks hungry for

the game.

Henderson 6 - Can't kick but we knew that, but didn't do much wrong.

Kenton 5 - Out of sorts

Johansson 4 - Not a left back, Passing awful

Kisnorbo 7 - Didn't us down

McCarthy 6 - Shakey start but got settled, should never try and play football though

Lowe 6 - Did alright first half faded.

Porter 6.5 - Looked good first half wasn't in it 2nd

Johnson 6.5 - I know alot of you won't agree, did his job picked up lose balls gave it to someone else, but not mobile enough.

Hughes 4 - One pace does nothing at least with williams you have the hope that he might do something.

Fryatt 6 - Feel sorry for the lad doesn't get much help

Hume 4 - poor very poor

Stearman 5 - What wrong with him?

O'grady 6.5 - at least he wanted it, should've started

Posted

Henderson - 6 - some smart stops, reasonable kicking, not at fault

Kenton - 5 - not the worst performer, difficult to understand why he came off at HT - there were many that deserved it more

McCarthy - 5 - generally solid, could have scored

Kisnorbo - 6 - some good interceptions

Johansson - 2 - abysmal. I only give him 2 because I assume he must have made some tackles - I usually closed my eyes when the ball went near him! Distribution is just not good enough, no pace, didn't even command in the air which is the very least you'd expect.

Low - 3 - worst game to date, put a couple of decent crosses in early on but never looked in it after the first 20mins.

Hughes - 1 - more disappointing than Johansson because we know that Hughes can pass. Distribution was way off, didn't make a tackle - too lightweight for central midfield.

Johnson - 7 - I don't understand the criticism. Committed, made some good solid tackles, passed neatly. Best game I've seen him play for us.

Porter - 6 - bit of a handful when he was given the ball, which was not really enough. His pace is enough to frighten people - shame about the shooting tonight!

Hume - 4.5 - didn't grasp his chance like I thought he would. Some glimpses, but generally looked off the pace.

Fryatt - 5 - I disagree that he's lost confidence - he's getting shots in, generally on target and working for the team. A couple of good crosses showed his midfield colleagues how it should be done. I'd stick with him.

Subs:

Stearman - 2 - looked like he was still on the bench. Pretty pointless substitution unless Kenton was injured. Has lost a lot of confidence.

O'Grady - 5 - made a reasonable impact, but not the answer. Just doesn't quite seem a Championship player to me, although getting good reviews because he at least looks like he's trying.

Hughes - 2 - Awfull. No passion.Lightwieght. Doesn't close down

Johnson - 4 - Shit.

Fryatt - 4 - Poor.

Haven't done ratings for a while but so annoyed at last night.

Henderson - 6.5 - Great goal that beat him. Pulled off a good save. Rubbish kicking as always

Kenton - 6 - Did ok, needed to support play

McCarthy - 6 - Played well for the first 75 mins, then he started giving the ball away easily with sloppy passes. Was however reliable all night in defence

Kisnorbo - 6 - Performed average. Not as solid as McCarthy last night in my opinion.

Johansson - 3.5 - Cannot support the play, passed backwards many times and the only time he tried to play porter in was hoof balls down the wing.

Low - 5.5 - Did ok first half, second half, Hull got tight on our wingers and stopped distribution to them.

Hughes - 3.5 - Winces out of tackles. Not strong enough, just not good enough to provide the creative spark, lacks vision.

Johnson - 4 - marginally better than Hughes, still useless

Porter - 6 - Only gets a six because first half he was brilliant in the first half, second half, Hull adjusted and kept him very quiet. i would say first half 8, second half 4.

Fryatt - 4 - Works hard but nothing is coming off for him. I personally would put him on the bench and play O'Grady + Hume upfront for a game, if anything just to give him a rest.

Hume - 4 - Nothing came off for him all night either. Was always having to search for the ball.

Subs

Stearman - 4 - Added nothing

O'Grady - 6 - Made a slight difference in that we had someone big and strong upfront. Mixed it up a bit.

Overall - First half we weren't bad. Their keeper Boaz Myhill was outstanding all night. He is in my mind one of the best keepers in the league and if he is ever available, we should jump at the chance to sign him. Parkinson did his job as Hull manager, seeing that all our threat came down our wings, so closed his team up, getting tight on Porter and Low in the second half. With this done, Hughes and Johnson were ineffective as they are both rubbish and couldn't think of anything else to do to pull the strings. We could have done with our fullbacks bombing up the line at this point, but alas we had Stearman (what has happened to you) and Johansson.

From a gamesmanship point of view, I was glad it was Bridges who scored what was a cracking strike, after all the injury troubles he has had.

Posted

I see a lot of mixed ratings for Johnson.

Some people dont realise he's not Joey Gudjonsson, he's not a creative midfielder.

He's a stopper, who can pass a bit.

I think he does what he knows he can do and he does it quitre well.

Posted

Henderson 4

Kenton 5

McCarthy 7 - The only positives I think that both Paddy's are playing well.

Kisnorbo 7

Nisse 4

Low 5

Hughes 4

Johnson 3 <_<

Porter 6

Hume 5

Fryatt 4

Subs: O'Grady 6 Stearman 2 - He made one good recovery tackle other than that just gave the ball away everytime even in his throws.
