davieG Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Blue Army! Leicester City fans can now help promote the Foxes' forthcoming fixtures in their local community. A downloadable poster will be published on the official website in the run-up to every home game. And City are appealing to supporters to get the poster seen wherever they can in a bid to increase awareness of the club's forthcoming matches in the community. As a reward for their efforts the club are offering tickets for upcoming games to the fans that come up with the most effective and imaginative poster placements. So you could put up the poster in your workplace, at school, in your window at home or simply in your car! Spotters from the club will be out and about in the local counties - and they could pay you a visit to thank you in person for your help. And make sure you send us pictures of your efforts which the club will publicise on the official website and in the matchday magazine. The poster can be printed out in colour or black and white and can be blown up to any size. But please make sure you gain permission from business/building proprietors before putting up the posters. CLICK HERE to download your poster for the upcoming fixture against Colchester United at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday, September 23. And don't forget to send in your photographs to stand the chance of winning a prize. Email your pictures to [email protected]
Lester LXXIV Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 I was really excited when I read the Topic Title!! Cheers Davie!!
Head Honcho Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 That is actually a very good idea. Although I doubt very much that it originated in our marketing department as our sales and marketing would have trouble selling smack to crackheads All they need to do now is lower the price's!
London_Fox Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Hardly the decisive action most of us want but I do think this is a good idea...even if it bring in only an extra 100 people its a start. Raise awareness!
l444ry Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Things have reached a pretty low level now!!! That's what a local village side would do. I now have even less respect for this shower that is running the club.

Wycombe Fox Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 There's a lot of blue ink in those posters! How about the club printing them off and putting them in the matchday programmes for the next home game?

I dunno it's a relatively inexpensive way of advertising your next match around the county and it may encourage a group of youngsters to get down the city every now and again. The poster doesn't look too shabby and as the saying goes "every little helps"

This has to be a wind up.....isn't it?

This has to be a wind up.....isn't it? You obviously know nothing about Marketing It's called "promotion placement" The cost of promoting on TV and Radio are huge and because we are a niche market it is better you promote your product where the public are going to see it.
Janx Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Crap...its crap. and makes us a joke, having to sell raffle tickets and lottery cards to keep cricket clubs and local pub teams afloat is bad enough, but having to Publicise your teams game... come on, everyone knows City play football at Walkers, so if they want to watch the match, they will come. this pile of toilet paper wont bring in the tens of thousands needed to keep us from footie oblivion.... Wanq! wanq! wanq!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Wanq! wanq! wanq!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You want the chebs thread mate.

Oh, I know plenty about marketing....having run my own businesses for 25 years plus. I wasn't suggesting advertising on TV etc. but indicating that they already give city free exposure. Unless we have some unknown Plymouth Brethren fans lurking in the shadows I would have thought all local football fans would have know about future games. The club would be far better trying to attract back the fans who have stopped going recently. And I doubt they would need to be reminded by a stupid stunt like this. I ask again....Is DavieG having a wind-up?

I ask again....Is DavieG having a wind-up? Well I thought every businessman would know that there is no such thing as too much advertising! Your last comment is exactly what it is about. There are about 12000 fans who have gone walkabout out there and I'd guess that this campaign is about getting them back down the Walkers. Just the football to sort out now then
Maybes Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Talk about scrapping the edge of the tin.....for every last drop but in this case every last fan.
