Ric Flair Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Come on then smart arses, lets have some ideas for replacements then, that a) we can afford after we have paid whatever we owe RK after weve sacked him, b ) wants to come to Leicester (because, lets face it who would want to damage their reputation by managing us?) and c) would be willing to be booed after 2 games in charge because we havent won 7-0 in both games. Its all one upmanship rollocks on this forum and its boring! Dave Penney.
Janx Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Well we could be REALLY flippant and say...its not our job to pick teams, managers or board, but as fans we are entitled to be agrieved if they are not working out.... at the end of the day the fans are the customers. HOWEVER what I will say is that there are many managers "available" and I have previously gone on record stating I am a fan of Dave Penney, BUT also I think a Director of football or a more "business" or knowledgable pair of hands could be utilised. The board has a BIG reason to be worried, because it is part of their job to make sure that the money is brought it... every town and city has many many millionaires, what is being done to court investment, I have also gone on record saying that there are too many chiefs spoiling the bird in hand AND that gimmicky spin based freebies are a waste of time and counter productive..... to Kayteh... why is this "one upmanship", I think it is more like, "many men outmanship" before we go tripping headlong into the abyss of lower league footeh
Suffolk_fox Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 I guess Bryan Robson and the newly freed Nigel Spackman are no no's too?

I totally adhere to this.
Katy Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Dave Penney. I like Ritchie (Barnsley). Now we are talking, all I was asking for was a bit of contructive comment in all this negativity. It's all well and good saying sack the manager but we need to think of the consequences of it and a suitable replacement. I think this situation needs one man with unspectacular ideas to take the lead role and kick the whole club up the arse. I don't think Rob Kelly is capable of that.

Dave Bassett etc.... ok no plate throwing, to use an example could be the link between Coach/manager and Chairman, When I say too many chiefs, I mean the board itself... after all who IS the board, who is knowledgable on the board...genuinely?

Just smacks of desperation to me. Taylor didn't work, Bassett and Adams didn't work, Adams and Bassett didn't work, Levein didn't work, Kelly isn't working so we're back to the Bassett idea again. I don't think a Director of Football is the way forward personally. As for the board, it doesn't matter. Soon it will be this man on the left <<<

Chairman and Manager. with coach. Rob is OK to be the third on this list. Director of Football...its just another word for Manager surely?

Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 along the lines of a director of football, I think we could do with Ray Graydon back the bloke knew his football, and was probabley the differnce between a winning Kelly side and a losing Kelly side.

He probably knew we were fnucked and that he was on a counsultancy basis.... we will probably never know.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Forza Milan! My contribution is the continued commitment to the Milan Mandaric thread. I might start stalking him as well.
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 exactly, why did Ray go? He probably knew we were fnucked and that he was on a counsultancy basis.... we will probably never know. I think he wanted to go back into full time management but it hasn't worked for him as of yet. As far as I know he's still unemployed.

You make a good point Manwell. This is an area worth investiagting, Graydon did a good job in short time he was here.
Surreal Madrid Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Oooh get you. Trouble is BartonFox and Thracian have been right all along I see we still have that Matty Fryatt you assureeveryone would be off by the end of August. Right all along? Don't think so!
Janx Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Get him in! IF he is the right man, I am sure someone can let us know of his record, but its along the rightlines of a plan of some description.. I think a lot of this is down to tactics and motivation, two pretty key ingredients, if you play people out of position then you could be knackered prior to start... also motivation.... enthusiasm or fear of god..which one is RK using, if any? With our squad, we SHOULD be doing better, and YES the players should take some of the blame, but at the end of the day its just like anyone in any job, some days you will be motivated, by your boss or the chance of a bonus or beacuse things are going well, some days you will feel like crap and you will need a gee up by your manager... AHem come on then gee em up...

AHem come on then gee em up... He's record....quite small, very simple Walsall 1998-2002 - very good Bristol Rovers 2002-2004 - bad I don't think he's management material or anything I just think getting him or someone like him into the club again is what we need. He's a very hard strict bloke and by the sounds of it thats what we miss. Apart from good players and money of course.
BMR Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 if you buy a cheap truck for your kid from poundland then sure as anything the wheels will come off sooner, if you hire a manager on the cheap then sure as anything.......
