Janx Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 if you buy a cheap truck for your kid from poundland then sure as anything the wheels will come off sooner, if you hire a manager on the cheap then sure as anything....... long time no see!
Thracian Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 You make a good point Manwell. This is an area worth investiagting, Graydon did a good job in short time he was here. Not necessarily disagreeing but I'd love to know the basis of that comment. My only lasting impression was that Graydon was at least partly behind the tactics we used at Ipswich last season which were bloody awful, a real usrrender if ever there was one.

FFS we can't get it right every soding game!
Thracian Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Come on then smart arses, lets have some ideas for replacements then, that a) we can afford after we have paid whatever we owe RK after weve sacked him, b ) wants to come to Leicester (because, lets face it who would want to damage their reputation by managing us?) and c) would be willing to be booed after 2 games in charge because we havent won 7-0 in both games. Its all one upmanship rollocks on this forum and its boring! If you were to put me on the spot and say we genuinely couldn't afford anyone else and people like Keegan or Ritchie weren't attainable I'd say that if Kelly really will not broaden his thinking and stop forever hedging his bets then I'd rather have Stowell/Beaglehole. Providing Beaglehole would assure me he'd maintain his commitment to the responsible attack that he's shown against good and bad opposition everytime I've watched his teams play then I'd sooner have that than the present fear-filled faltering. Assuming he's got a pro badge which I would wonder cos he's doesn't seem to be afflicted by negative thinking as I've noticed - a sure sign that someone's been on a top level coaching course as SGE demonstrated so glaringly. If not he could be assistant to Stowell. In fact if what you say is true - and the club seems to say it as well - that is just about the only alternative. But given the alternative than fans just will not put up with much more rubbish like Saturday, I'd be happy to go down that route if necessary.

Amazing, you actually do just want to watch the Academy week in week out don't you.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Sometimes I picture Thracian copy and pasting his Academy love with studious intensity and this bloke who disappointingly probably looks nothing like a veteran Spanish right-back slowly going insane in Suffolk.
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 haha, funny. Dunno were you got the Suffolk bit from though, Coleorton ( Coalville ) me.

Thracian Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Amazing, you actually do just want to watch the Academy week in week out don't you. Well after our sixth home League game in nine without a goal I'm bloody glad I did this week. At least I saw eight goals and a team trying to play some properly co-ordinated attacking football.

Surely the same approach should be used throughout ALL sections of the club. No wonder the youngsters find it difficult making the step up.

Or perhaps we are just vastly superior in the academy leagues and therefore we find it easy to score goals without having to be 'gung ho'. But it would be nice if we could be successful in all sections of our club.
Bloomer Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 The shower we have are not giving it the 'real go' that RK assured us of. Whose fault is that? If we bring in a new Manager he:- a)either gets rid of the shyte (and there is a lot of it about), bringing in similarly priced alternatives who WILL sweat some claret to win, or, b) he kicks this bunch of to$$ers in to shape, providing positive tactics, a settled formation and a shedload of motivation. Either way, there can't be that many willing AND able? (And cheap). Martin Allen?

The People's Hero Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Alan Partridge. And he doesn't even exist. Steve Coogan. He does exist but won't manage us (I asked him last week). Ultra - will refuse to have anything to do with the club once MM saves us.

Maybe we didnt ask nicely enough? If we really want to relace Kelly, I and I havent said we should, then we will have either have to pay for someone's services, or you take what's on the 'between jobs' list. I'd rather we found some money. You have a forte for picking holes in posters comments and sniping at others ideas, but you rarely come up with any original solutions yourself, don't patronise me small man.

Let's face it guys, without MM millions were not gonna get a half decent manager wanting to manage a club who's board are inept and have no money!!!

Martin Allen seems to be a very principled man. You might argue that taking over at a "franchise club" such as MK Dons compromises that slightly but in terms of leaving a club in the lurch, I think he is the last man to do something like that. He stated clearly that he was not interested in leaving Brentford to join anybody including us, mid-season. Living down here in Northampton I see a lot of him on the local news and he has really bought into the MK Dons idea. He has been very clear that the only reason he took on the job was its potential i.e. the new stadium, new fanbase, aiming for promotion to League One etc. He really comes across as someone who is genuinely going to stick it out with them for a fair old time. I can't see him coming to us or any club outside of the Premiership any time within the next eighteen months. Maybe I'm naive but I can't see it at all.
