Daggers Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 Kevin Blackwell i think could work wounders for a club like city I believe you could be right, especially as he has something to prove
Swedging Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 I believe you could be right, especially as he has something to prove Yeah, but proving that you aren't complete and utter shite can be hard when, in fact, you are.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 Kevin Blackwell i think could work wounders for a club like city Why would Blackwell be any good?? He had 'some' sort of money to spend at Leeds on players like Healy, Hulse, Blake, Westlake, Lewis etc.. WE HAVE NO MONEY, so don't think he'd probably be up to much. Alex McLeish may not be a nightmare however???
Mark Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 I dread to think who the board would bring in next, they haven't a clue who to look for. They went from one extreme to the other after Levein was sacked. Newell (Positive, attack minded manager), to Holloway and Cotterill (Negative, uninspiring style of play). First you bring in a manager to match the boards ambitions but also a manager that sets his teams out to play a way that will suit the talented young players we have at the club. It's simple really, you have to score goals to get out of this league so a more attack minded manager than the last two, possibly with a bit more experience than Levein and Kelly. Then again they could take a chance like Watford did with Boothroyd. Our board though (like our current manager) will always try to take the safe option so that wouldn't be likely. As for Blackwell, he wouldn't go down well here. At Leeds he played 4-5-1 for most of his reign, including the Playoff final which ultimately led to him losing the fans.
Joe. Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 I said Kelly should have gone with Levein et al, he was part of the problem. There seems to be some sort of urban myth surrounding him that he is a good coach, well that is clearly complete claptrap. The players don't play to any clear system and they are still not fit enough to compete at this level. He is clueless out of his depth and a damn sight worse the CL, he at least had a vision but lost sight of it when it hit the rails for the first time. Kelly has no idea whatsoever. As for managers we could get - Alan Curbishley Mark McGee David Penny John Aldridge David O'Leary Alex McLeish Joe Royle Neale Cooper You're living in a dream world mate... Let's go through these managers listed above. 1. Alan Curbishley- You are having a laugh aren't you? As if he would come to a poor club like us 2. Mark MceGe- He's just been sacked at league one Brighton- we want to go forward not backwards 3. Dave Penney- It's a case of whether he would want to return to management after only just leaving Doncaster- probably not 4. John Aldridge- Excuse me? Why? 5. David O'Leary- Pure and Simple- Not good enough 6. Alex McLeish- Same as Alan Curbishley 7. Joe Royle- Has just been sacked at Ipswich and isn't really the right man to take us forward. 8. Neale Cooper- Has not really done anyhting great with his career. Same reasons as Mark McGee
