Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 September 2006 Author Posted 25 September 2006 I'm sorry Ultra but although your stance is admirable, you are not at the forefront of some vanguard of loyal Leicester fans fighting for the nobility of our proud club. You are 1 and we are 33 (and rising). As someone who believes that the board must be Leicester fans, the fans are truly capable of having their wishes granted and that we need investment but just not from him for some reason, aren't you slightly worried that your arguments against Mandaric are losing their credibility with every Leicester fan who comes back from a game and says "I was on the fence before, but that did it for me, we need help, I'm impressed with what he has achieved at Pompey and I can't sit back and watch us get relegated while turning our nose up at the notion of investment"?
Ultra Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 He's not a pimp or a dealer he doesn't come from any kind of criminal back ground and has no link to anything dodgy unlike some of the russians. Where the hell were you last week? Portsmouth were one of the clubs featured in the bungs scandal. Until the allegations have been cleared up we shouldn't be going anywhere near any of the personnel involved. He is an astoute business man who gets results and is yet to fail at any club he has owned. He is a proper football person, unlike the current arse holes in charge. [/quote}I don't think Steve Claridge or Alan Birchenall would agree, and I trust THEIR record in football far more than I do Mandaric's. a) You can't spell astute. If you can't even display basic literacy skills then I have No respect whatsoever for any argument you wish to make. b) What did Mandaric do in the States? I seem to remember the side he owned there went bust! (so much for the "yet to fail" theory) Whats your problem? you'll be waiting forever for a rich city fan to rescue us, we aren't an attrative prospect, anyone who shows a vague interest should be encouraged. A lot of clubs have come close to bankruptcy because they fell victim to predators and spivs who promised them the earth but delivered nothing. If we fell into financial trouble again the league would make damn sure that we'd never escape. Can we really trust Mandaric not to leave us in the lurch? Anyone can take a team to the top of the Premiership. Even the numpties like Elsom and Walker managed for us during the early weeks of Peter Turnip. But I don't hear anyone calling for THEM to come back. If Portsmouth are REALLY that great, ask yourself why Mandaric wants to leave.

He's leaving because he's made a hell of alot of money, that's what most INVESTORS aim to do.

You are 1 and we are 33 (and rising). Doesn't matter. I'm still right and the rest of you are still wrong. You can have 100, 1000 on your side, it still won't change anything. Arguing for Mandaric is like saying the moon is made of cheese!

A small segment at the end where Redknapp says he'd take Andy Todd if he was available and Kevin Bond alluded to taking a bung? What the hell has that got to do with Mandaric? Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle were all implicated as well, does that mean Rafael Benitez, Glenn Roeder and Jose Mourinho and their respective chairmen are all crooked? 2) Having a go at someone's spelling is a great way to get out of answering a point. 3) "If we fell into financial trouble again the league would make damn sure that we'd never escape. Can we really trust Mandaric not to leave us in the lurch?" As opposed to the great financial situation we are currently in with our amazing prospects of earning pots of money.
OBO Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 You can't spell astute. If you can't even display basic literacy skills then I have No respect whatsoever for any argument you wish to make. Steady on mate, one typo doesn't mean a good point isn't being made! You can't use the quote function properly, therefore the moon is made of cheese!
Daggers Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Doesn't matter. I'm still right and the rest of you are still wrong. You're not taking your ball with you as well are you, Ultra?

Arguing for Mandaric is like saying the moon is made of cheese! If Mandaric hasn't got a good record in football then what do you make of Tim Davies, Ronald McDonald and Foxes Trust's track record in football?

You can have 100, 1000 on your side, it still won't change anything. Arguing for Mandaric is like saying the moon is made of cheese! Case scenario. Mandaric takes over. 97% of Leicester fans are happy about this. You are not. You renewing your season ticket? Going regularly? Or are you going to start Leicester United in Viccy Park? This poll would suggest you might be on your own on that one.
Finnegan Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Er. I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but Ultra, you're disregarding someone's opinion because of their typing / spelling skills and you can't even manage to find the correct keys to write "[qúote][/qúote]"? Grow up, mate.
Janx Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 my fear is that he Ultra would prefer to listen to The Birch's opinion... dear god we would be knackered... legend of the pitch he may be!
Wycombe Fox Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Ultra, MM's team in the USA was St. Louis Storm and only folded due to the failure of the league to which they belonged - MM didn't fail.
Ric Flair Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 my fear is that he Ultra would prefer to listen to The Birch's opinion... dear god we would be knackered... legend of the pitch he may be! Ultra sounds like one of the cheb ends who prides himself on taking the opinion of Birchenall, Barber and Ballard on the moan in.
Wycombe Fox Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 At the moment, with the poll reading 36-1 in favour of Milan Mandaric, and assuming that the Walkers Stadium was full, then there'd be 31135 supporters in favour of MM and 865 against! That's pretty conclusive! Down here I'm surrounded by Pompey fans (not literally, you understand!) and I've not heard a bad thing said about the guy - they were going nowhere until he stepped in.

Utter rubbish, take shots at my English all you want your grabbing at straws again. St Louis Blues were his first team I beleive they folded becuase the MLS league folded in 1992, and didn't resurface until December 1993, he then founded San Jose Earthquakes who are still around today, evey club he has been at since then has moved forward. Do not argue about things you don't fully understand. oh yes. a) You can't spell astute. If you can't even display basic literacy skills then I have No respect whatsoever for any argument you wish to make. Why does the no have a capital letter literacy king.
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Self correction. St Louis Storm not Blues....Blues are the NHL team I think.....
Sparky Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 milan in 100% , what could we possibly lose ?
Master Fox Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 milan in 100% , what could we possibly lose ? Absolutely nothing, we might lose Ultra as fan of the club but that's no great loss considering we'll probably get an extra 15,000 people turning up every week. A Mandaric buy out of the club could mean a sustained premiership place. Under the current board and management League 1 football. There isn’t much of argument against the proposal of a Mandaric buy out. This could be one the best things to ever happen to this club.
supedaj Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 does anyone even have any idea of how likely it is at this stage? have there been any recent rumours at all? do foxes_trust have aything to say on the matter?
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 does anyone even have any idea of how likely it is at this stage? have there been any recent rumours at all? do foxes_trust have aything to say on the matter? He hasn't ruled it out, he's also been linked with Wolves. Louise has a formula for working out the likely hood of it actually happening

I sincerely hope not. Hopefully with Mandaric coming in it might spell the end of the FT
Knighton Matt Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 1 no! Without even having to read this thread I'm guessing it might be Ultra?!
Wycombe Fox Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Anyone got an account with www.192.com? There are details for a Milan Mandaric in Hampshire but you need an account to access them. We could send him some personal pleas to get involved (or would that be just twa tty?)
